The approach to Dunmore Hillfort, near Callendar in Perthshire. The fort is probably Iron Age in date. ๐Ÿ“ธ My own. #HillfortsWednesday #Dunmore #Archaeology #Perthshire

Going Hebridean for this week's #HillfortsWednesday

There was nothing quite like the spectacular Dun Carloway broch on Lewis when I biked to it in 2024 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

This well-built double-skinned drystone tower must have been a bewildering sight to any hillfort builder of the south. Extraordinary!

I've recently been appointed a Director/Trustee of Cousland Smiddyโ€“an early 18th-century blacksmithโ€™s workshop, Victorian cottage, and community heritage hub in Midlothian. We have a number of open days planned this year. I'm hoping to attend most of them. Come and see us!
