The Pride is still high in my mind. I did something special for all the queer comics fans like myself. I’d like to revisit it some day, but perhaps not in comics. I can’t find a way to make comics work with my means, so we’ll see.

Increasingly of the opinion that the correct answer to the Trolley Problem is "fuck you, why are you so fixated on finding reasons to justify killing people?"
When Americans were asked to temporarily sacrifice going to their barbers so we could keep the morgues from overflowing, people with guns stormed the Michigan capitol.
Great series with some really interesting and diverse characters.
The Pride is well worth anyone's time- definitely go and check it out!
Anyone got any ideas how to get more people reading my fantasy on Royal Road? It’s just got 5 readers so far :(
Hmm I need to pick which Dungeon Crawler Carl book to take to the event Sunday to get signed.
The obvious choice is the first book, but I’m tempted to go with my favourite, Carl’s Doomsday Scenario, or the one that blew my mind, The Gate of the Feral Gods
Thank you so much. I’m so glad it meant so much

This is such a fun shot!
How do you mean?
I dunno why people would act surprised that Van Sciver is a homophobe. He regularly called me a faggot, this is not new information- people should leave him in obscurity like they did me
I am not promoting this *nearly enough* thanks to the crushing workload of actually MAKING the book, but!
We’re making a romcom! If you like queer characters, relationship friction, and as much humour as we could cram in, maybe you should read the preview at the link, and possibly even preorder?
When I go, I suppose my biggest regret will just be how much life I wasted on people who didn’t really care, and goals that were never achievable to begin with.
Now I focus on what I can do, and people who actually want me around :)
But lately things seem to be on the up. I’m generally speaking happier in myself. My career may never progress, or even get back to what it was just 7 years ago, but I can keep putting out little things here and there and a handful of people will read them and care. That’s enough.
I’m fine now, btw, more or less. But when I was hitting the lowest of lows, and I mean really dark thoughts and places, seeing how few of the people I thought had my back and cared actually did really didn’t help. I still get little blips of low even now, thinking about how much I invested
When I was going through a massive medical event & dire mental health crisis only a handful of people reached out to me. It’s led me to re-evaluate who my real friends are, and what I spent my life focusing on and working towards. At 41 though, to be doing this feels like such a bad time to do so
Loving the red lighting (less so the red flag 😜)
Congratulations! Well deserved!
I just backed this amazing book project, and you really need to too!

Go and back this amazing book by an incredible creator now! I’m backing as soon as I get home from work! Get on it, you don’t wanna miss it!
He was my starter Pokémon

That’s a service some offer?
Or if someone is already doing it, I'd love to hear about it. And genuine ones ideally, not the same as the endless spam emails I get from people saying they could push my book out to everyone and everywhere, if I just pay them $60 no questions asked etc etc. Those have really increased lately
But I certainly don't have the budget or regular income to cover hiring an agent full time. Plus that all detracts from my writing time (which I'm already kinda struggle with as I've been getting back on my feet).
I think someone could really clean up if they brought out something like that.
to do, I think it could really corner the market, especially in the indie book/self published comics space.
I've never been very good at it, many of my own social posts all kind of sounding the same, and I've never been able to get my head around metadata no matter how hard I try
If there was like a subscription model for a marketing agent or group that you pay so much per month, and they will just handle basic marketing and social pushes for your work, it would be so helpful. Like, even if they did the bare basics, or tiered options to measure how much work you want them
Like, on Reedsy, I can find plenty of people who can suggest deeply involved marketing campaigns and plans, or create an ad run, or documents a plan of action for the creator to do, but they're often not very cheap and still relies on you (who may have no experience/skill at marketing) to do it
Lately, I've been thinking something I'd really love to have as a service to utilise as an author/creator would be some kind of subscription model I could sign up to that has someone else handle the marketing/social media posts about my books etc. Is that a thing that exists?
This time, I opened the door to the changing rooms, almost smacking him in the face. I said sorry and then offered him to pass. And he did the same. We wound up actually both finally taking the others offer at the same time, meaning we passed each other almost chest to chest in the doorway 😂
