Love how much the Pokemon in Pokopia say "yo"
I actually kinda regret making an ARM64 JIT backend for Xenia now because it's exposed to project to a level of tackiness that makes me understand why so many emulator projects intentionally avoid and even deter support for Android/iOS.
Someone took my ARM64 JIT work, made an Android port of Xenia, and monetized it on the Google Play store and even mentions my arm64 branch by name in the description.

what ai do you use? was it peepee-3.5? was it poopoo-4?
did you hear about caca-2-mini? you can run doodoo-6o locally now. shit-butt-pro-2 just came out and it changes everything bro
Nice! Yeah all it takes is one divergent pixel in a quad for mip mapping and fwidth and such to get weird. You might be able to remedy it with tricks like manually calculating your LOD rather than relying on quad derivatives or using a Texture2DArray if you're able to and other stuff like that.
Maybe catch and debug those pixels in RenderDoc? Something tells me it's possibly texture-derivative-related(if you have mip-maps) since it's a screen-space rectangular shape, or some divergent arithmetic issues where variables are possibly undefined during certain branches within the same subgroup
Fellow Rez enjoyer (all 12 of us)
Pokopia has been sooooo funnnn.
Coming from Dragon Quest Builder games which I also loved I just know I'm going to be spending loooots of time in Pokopia
Wunkolo's Nintendo Switch friend code: "SW-5559-2254-1313"
For any pals that wanna add me for Pokopia π₯Ίπ₯Ί
I saw that happen with that Deadlock modding tool thing on Twitter. When they get called out the CheckMark TechBros comment the most obtuse crap like "EVERYONE uses AI these days to program!!! Every single person!!!!! They ALL use AI!!" and this is only true in their hustling/grifting techbro spaces
Genuinely just a totally broken sense of fulfillment going on here. Lots of B2B SaaS tech-bros doing the same sort of tacky things in other spaces. How do you share an Open Source space with people like this. It's only going to get more tacky as AI "empowers" people like this.
Code is an unmaintainable mess that layers slop on top of slop to address the slop, recursively
Performance/rendering/crashing issues he doesn't know how to fix, a code base he doesn't understand, but wants all the "clout" and "renown" and "fame" attached to slopping something over the finish line.
Dude runs off to make his own fork with this horrible code and is hyper-establishing a whole website and discord server and monetizing it with Kofi...
for code that _he himself admits_ he does not understand at all!!!

I've been particularly demotivated from doing Open Source work lately because of the amount of sloppification that is happening in my spaces in particular
We had a guy vibecode the most ATTROTRIOUS PR to Xenia(Xbox 360 emulator) using my Arm64 JIT work as a starting point:

You really have to have a broken sense of fulfillment to generate and consume AI slop of any kind man.
I just cannot relate to it.
It really is the same "NGMI" fomo shit they said about crypto and NFTs.
Almost wrapped up Pokemon ZA just in time for Pokopia to come out this week..
Just beat it and loved it I love how campy it is and the characters and everything lol
I'll earn my right to Play RE9 by playing the other games leading up to it

I get this exact effect on my 165hz IPS monitors(ROG PG279Q) whenever there is a horizontal 0x555.../0xAAA... stipple-pattern of some sort. The higher the contrast differences are the farther it "streaks" across the screen.
I especially get it on images like this:
i0.wp.com/kguttag.com/...
Oo this is making me realize I should probably do something like this in some JITs I worked on
NEW POKEMON GAME AAA THOSE GRAPHICS...
I just got hit by this too lmfao what is going on with this company π΅βπ«π΅βπ«π΅βπ«
It's sooo good I especially love all of the UX decisions the made in particular so it's not necessarily the kind of game where you need to have a Wiki up all the time. I can just have it on the TV and get lost with things to do.
I thought the supreme court said the huge import tariffs and stuff like this aren't legal anymore but that kinda doesn't mean anything anymore these days I feel
YOU DID IT!!!
I hate that vibe-coding became common among B2B SaaS money-hustling tech-bros during a time when we should be making more optimal and energy-efficient software!!!
I don't like it, and it's causing a sloppification of soooo many crafts and industries that should be centering a human's touch rather than cold automation, but I'm ultimately powerless against mass corporate interests in it.
