I'd definitely prefer that version as the drawings always look better at larger scale, plus hardbacks always feel nicer. It's definitely where I'm leaning unless lots of people say they'd prefer the cheaper option.

Follow-up question. Let's say it's a book featuring 50 of my (very detailed) insect drawings. Would you favour...

a) A 20x20cm book, possibly paperback cover, for around ยฃ15 - ยฃ20

b) A 30x30cm book with a hardback cover, for around ยฃ30

?

Hi folks, I'm thinking of producing a very limited run of art books to celebrate reaching 50 insect drawings. Can anyone recommend a high quality and cost effective uk printer (for books, specifically)?

Great point - I'll have to do some research. Thanks!

I'm hoping for recommendations for companies that other artists have used and been pleased with - otherwise I'd just Google it!

This is more of a short-run vanity project - it's not my fully-fledged gigantic book with diagrams, explanations etc, but more of a simple collection of my drawings so far.

Yes, all spiders originated from a puddle in Oxford.

Is it a bit too tin-foil-hat of me to think that measures like this are in anticipation of the societal collapse that's likely when the impacts of climate breakdown (food running out etc) are truly felt?

What a surprise that the very worst parties represent the largest pro-war contingents. I'm shocked.

All spiderlings are born with a large appendix, but quickly shed it due to peer pressure.

Beetles have been around since before flowers
They were already thriving 100 million years before the first bloom. When flowers finally evolved, beetles were among the first pollinators.

Great point! I stuck some googly eyes on my microwave and it's now sentient, so I completely understand where you're coming from.
