Back home fromΒ work. Back home from work and I decided that tonight I'll have a night off because I had some exercise this morning and kept to my meal plan for today. The train ride back from work was good - I'm not too sure whether it is just me but I've noticed that the speed of the train appears to be a lot better in particularly when it comes to the stopping and acceleration between stations.

Back from work, out for aΒ walk. Arrived home after work, going to head out for a walk because goodness knows I need a way to unwind after dealing some interesting customers today. I updated Chrome today on all my computers along with installing the patch Tuesday update for Windows 11 - no regressions yet but then again I tend to have a pretty simply setup without any major under the hood tweaking so I guess I escape many of the problems some people report when updating.

"my last video went viral so I'm going to..." - let me stop you there, that last video had 50 views, it didn't go viral and claiming that it did won't some how magically make it so.

The tech enthusiast community is over run with people suffering from the main character syndrome. Apple provide some options for users to tweak Liquid Glass look and feel then the army of people with main character syndrome start whinging, whining and bellyaching.

While I'm here, the fact that the market can be moved by the lies of Trump who claimed the war would be over soon tells you everything you need to know about these so-called 'Wall Street geniuses' who demonstrate that they lack any critical thinking skills.

Once again I ask, where are all these online leftists who said they couldn't vote for Harris? the same people who played the game of false equivalency - where are they now? engaging in the same copium everytime Trump does something horrific by claiming "but, but Harris would be just as bad!".

Back to work onΒ Wednesday. Back to work on Wednesday however it appears that the night train will be getting replaced with a bus but I guess it is the price one pays for having an improved rail network. I've set my alarm for 10am so I can get up out of bed, jump into my exercise gear and have a quick 1 hour walk before having a shower, some fresh clothes then off to catch the train into the office.

Controlling the narrative. "The first casualty of war is the truth" It is commonly said that the first victim of war is the truth and something that the neoconservatives (or what remains of them now) have learned from the collapse of support for the Vietnam War and the second war in Iraq is that if you don't control the narrative then you lose popular support which then undermines the ability to keep the war going over long term (along with any other overseas regime change wars).

Feeling a lotΒ better. I'm feeling a lot better now after going for two walks totalling 23.2km - 11.6km in the afternoon then 11.6km in the evening. I think getting out in the fresh air and breathing in fresh air has helped my recovery and tomorrow then the next day I'll be doing the same thing however when I go back to work on Wednesday I am tempted to get up at 10am so that I can go for an hour walk then come back, have a shower then head off to to the train station at 12:30 to be in the office by 1pm.

And it continues. I was watching a video from 'Amanpour & Co' on YouTube where David Frum was interviewed regarding the recent military operations being carried out by Israel and the United States: I have to prefix this that I am not a fan of the Iranian regime nor am I a supportive of the military operations taking place but David Frum did make an important point.

"both people in a relationship now have to work to pay the bills...all of one income is going to pay the rent/mortgage...why aren't people having children given that precarious financial situation?! I know...they're just being selfish!" - says the out of touch politician and/or commentator.

Btw, anyone noticed how the promises of AI have been scaled back from 'curing cancer' to now 'generating porn' within a space of a few years? When the promises you made regarding your technology drops that dramatically then maybe this is an indication that it was never going to happen.

Oracle and OpenAI drop Texas data center expansion plan, Bloomberg News reports Oracle and OpenAI have abandoned plans to expand a flagship artificial intelligence data center in Texas after negotiations dragged over financing and OpenAI's changing needs, Bloomberg News reported...

Are we seeing the start of a major correction to the AI hype cycle - people are finally realising that it isn't the second coming but instead it is an interesting technology but a flawed one at that.

A day ofΒ recovery. Today I spent the day at home recovering - I really wanted to avoid having time off from work but at the end of the day there is little to no benefit working if as a result you're not as productive along with prolonging the recovery. I installed Chrome on my MacBook Pro to see how much different it is when compared to Safari and I noticed some improvements in terms of responsiveness such resolving host names, rendering websites and the browser remaining responsive when dealing with complex webapps that make extensive use of JavaScript.

The fact that JD Vance and Tulsi Gabbard haven't stepped down demonstrates that they were always frauds and never believed in their anti-war rhetoric because if they did believe it they would have stepped down in protest of what is taking place.

Day off workΒ sick. Still got a sore throat and I've lost my sense of smell and taste - I think I may have COVID but I'll need to get a testing kit to see whether that is the case. I originally thought that maybe it was due to a cold or seasons changing but apparently it is quite common at the moment and there have been reports of an uptick in COVID going through the community because of the regular waste water testing that is taking place.

It would be nice if people stopped using this nonsensical phrase "peace through strength" - if you're not going to use your strength to impose your will then what you're actually doing is "peace through bluffing" and then hoping that no one calls out your bluff.

A good dayΒ today. I had a fairly uneventful day today - some busy periods but mostly rather uneventful over all. When I woke up this morning I checked for updates and Apple had released an update for iOS, iPadOS and macOS in the for of 26.3.1 - the updates were pretty big (I have Apple Intelligence enabled on all of them) so I am unsure whether it includes updates for those models but I have noted that many files have been updated including Safari being updated to 26.3.1.

I'm going to say it, I don't care about influencers being stuck in UAE and other gulf Arab states, they made their bed and now they're going to have to sleep in it and no I don't think tax payers money should be used to 'rescue' them from the tax haven they've been enjoying.

Maybe the US gov should round up all those Trump supporters who turn up to his rallies, fly Trump flags on their lifted trucks, post obnoxiously on X etc. - send them overseas to fight the war that they voted for rather than soldiers being sent who never signed up for what is taking place.

Installed the 26.3.1 update - 10gb for both my Mac Studio and MacBook Pro (Apple Intelligence enabled) and iPhone slightly over 900MB (Apple Intelligence enabled); for an update that big I wonder if in the few days there will be reports of a lot more bugs being fixed than what was disclosed.

Today was a goodΒ day. I worked from home today because I was feeling under the weather to go into the office so I'll be working for the rest of the week at home but I'll be all recovered to go into the office next week. After finishing work tonight I went for a walk - had to wear a jersey for the first time tonight as the weather is starting to get a bit chilly as we move into autumn.

At the half wayΒ point. Work is going well and I noticed that macOS 26.4 beta 3 has been made available (link) which makes me wonder whether the delay could have been due to product model information being in the build - Apple always wanting to 'make a splash' when they launch products. It'll be interesting to see how quickly we'll get to see the 26.4 release and what will be in store for 26.5 - many rumours being around the refinement to Liquid Glass and any bigger changes being pushed off for version 27 with the one in charge of the user interface team being a veteran of Apple going back decades so hopefully that is a sign that we'll see some sanity return in the form of usability over making the interface pretty.

Alliance Defending Freedom:
- Opposes same sex marriage
- Opposes abortion
- Opposes LGBTQ+ rights
So I assume the use of 'freedom' in their name is them demanding the freedom to strip the rights away from people they dislike.

Even 27% is too high - the fact that 27% of the American population are that disconnected from reality tells me that as long as a significant portion portion of the population like that exists there will always be a risk for a future Trump like figure to get elected president of the United States.
