14 March 1943 | A transport of some 2,000 Jewish men, women & children arrived at Auschwitz from the liquidated ghetto in Krakow.
During the selection SS doctors decided that 484 men & 24 women would be registered in the camp. The remaining - probably 1,492 people - were murdered in gas chamber II.

Folk too thick to use bluetooth.

Used to be regular stop for us on a Sunday cycle round the Forth. Stunning, and get better and more impressive the closer you get.

On 27 July 1942 he and his mother, Olga, were imprisoned in the Theresienstadt ghetto, and on 15 December 1943 they were deported to #Auschwitz. They did not survive.

Had to drive through the centre of Edinburgh today.
Mostly 20mph, some 30. 3rd or 4th gear. Car didn't complain. Was I much slower than before? Nope.

Wee french country mouse finding the suburbs of Edinburgh so interesting.

I went on a course there and Sandra came with me. She hired a bike for 3 days. Nothing fancy, a newish alu straight barred town bike, but she covered everywhere she wanted to visit. Cycling was easy as v flat, and hire was v cheap.
And while she was doing that, I was sitting in meeting rooms all day

But when you get there, plenty of hire bikes.

Thoughts:
1.VW knew what they were doing with the Passat. Quiet, no stress. Even on 19" wheels is comfy. Less than one tank Lower Normandy to Edinburgh. 61mpg (brimmed)
2. Jeez, just how dear is motorway food
3. Modern cars are all identical. When did everything become blobby?

11 March 1934 | A French Jew, Marcel Milsztejn, was born in Paris.

He arrived at #Auschwitz on 31 August 1942 in a transport of 1,000 Jews deported from Drancy. He was among the 676 people murdered after selection in a gas chamber.

Could have stopped typing after 'worse'.

10 March 1924 | A German Jewish woman, Stefania Anschel, was born in Berlin.

She arrived at #Auschwitz on 4 February 1943 in a transport of 952 Jews deported from Berlin. She did not survive.

That would drive me daft, and it's pretty easy to train dogs out of it.

About 450 miles of our drive back to Scotland done.
