1.5 years ago I took a class on wooden automata. I was excited about the mechanisms I made, but my carving was terrible. I knew I needed to learn to carve in order to make what I really wanted. Here's the first of the concepts I did in reimagined. More coming "soon" with more elaborate movements.

Latex balloons are truly natural latex, which we get from tapping rubber trees. There are no fillers or plasticizers. (There are pigments.) Like other natural items, they break down.
