I’d hoped that Day of the Jackal - one book/movie stretched to 10 part season would be enough and end

That Dem consultants told Gov. Walz to stop calling them “weird” still has me miffed.

I would support a media industry One And Done pledge and badge so you know that what you are watching or reading will end.

Somewhat disappointed (as I come near to end of series) to discover there’s a Day of the Jackal season 2 planned. I was hoping for “one and done”.

Miller’s 7±2 rule was about memory, not how many elements you can put on the screen.

Paid £20 road tax which is very low (PHEV car) but huge increase from the absolutely nothing we've paid for last 3 years. I have never understood why it was set so low.

Three-Stage Workshop and Civic Assembly Process
A structured engagement journey is proposed:
Stage 1 - Past & Emotion Workshop
A facilitated session focusing on the local emotional landscape, past experiences, and points of pride and pain.
• Involves archaeology/ecology perspectives to ground discussion in place and time.
• Brings together councillors, local government, protest groups, and other stakeholders.
Purpose: surface resentments, validate them, and start to reframe the story of the place.
Stage 2 - Civic Assembly on Present Decisions
A more formal civic-assembly style meeting where residents:
• Hear about key decisions and constraints in plain language.
• Ask questions and challenge assumptions.
• See clearly where they have real agency and where they do not.
This builds a sense that participation is not simply symbolic.
Stage 3 - Future-Focused Workshop (Hopeful Futures)
A co-creative session oriented toward "what could we build together here?"
• Explores future possibilities, local projects, and shared priorities.
• Aims to identify community-led initiatives and longer-term structures for joint working.
Across all stages, food, storytelling, and small-group conversation are used deliberately to build trust and reduce the sense of being in a purely bureaucratic or adversarial setting.

Yup. Many rides were shipped to Peru when privatised, that went bust and the owner tried to recoup losses by shipping back in (with 180 kilos of cocaine hidden inside)

Barber saying it was the only time he felt like running away. When Doing was impossible and Feeling was all there was and it appeared vast and impossible

Chatting to barber about the helplessness of waiting for hospital to call about whether in need to collect mum or not.

That this inability to do a task, make a plan, solve a problem reveals all the relationship, feeling and emotion that is hidden behind Doing.

Designing workshop exercise about welcomes and invitations to be held in abandoned East Berlin theme park. The setting is very surreal.

Very much my view about the wisdom of AI. Further away it is from any actual context the cleverer it appears.

My mum’s side of family is from the isles. Her parents (born c.1895) were brought up to respect but reject their language, to learn English and to be educated to escape the isles. The communal culture lost to individual economic decisions.

The importance of a local sense of society and culture. Watching BBC Alba lately and it provides a perspective on people living their lives in another language/another history of place
