Just watched a recording of Audra McDonald performing Rose's Turn at the Tony's last night and not at all embarrassed to say I broke into applause at the end - to the surprise of everyone sitting near me in this coffee shop.
A coruscating analysis.
Orwell's Two Minutes Hate is basically the comments section of social media posts. Except it's constant.
"If we want to maintain the UKβs position as a global leader in theatre β and continue to inspire the next generation of actors, writers, and technicians β then government must act.β www.theguardian.com/stage/2025/m...
It's amazing to see the endorsements flooding in for my campaign.
Very grateful & humbled, just in one morning!
It's time to win more MPs.
Be the alternative to a failing Labour government & stop the rise of the right.
Can you help us to 500 by end of the day?

"There is no place for arrogance in the arts, but neither is there room for doubt or a perpetual need for affirmation...The world doesn't have time for that. Believe in your worth and work with a will so that others will see it. That's how it is done; that's how it was always done." -Martha Graham

Great theatre requires that a conversation should begin about it after the curtain comes down, writes Tim Walker
Why, when prices for a show in the West End are announced, do people check the MOST expensive price and then scream blue murder about it?
Starmer is really, really bad at this.
If true, it's an ignorant, myopic decision. Philistinism. www.artsprofessional.co.uk/news/goodbye...
Very excited by this news. Zack has always been a fantastic Green voice. Will have my vote. #BackZack
Today JBR Creative Management celebrates our 6th birthday.
We are grateful for every coffee, every conversation, every connection that led us here.
Grateful to everyone whoβs travelled the road with us.
Paid Β£4.70 for an iced latte and frankly, iced latte season is now officially over.
They've done things not even the Cass report called for and they're doing things not even this Supreme Court called for.
All they wanted was permission.
Keir Starmer has clarified that the position of his government is Transphobic
Melanie Field, one the civil servants who drafted the 2010 Equality Act has spoken out in the wake of the biased Supreme Court ruling
I do not want to see Keir Starmer or Labour UK anywhere near Pride in London ever again - bowing down to Transphobic bigots over a warped and biased ruling which architects of the Equality Act 2010 have already spoken out against⦠Labour has abandoned the LGBTQ+ community
The Trans Rights demo yesterday was beautiful and hopeful. So many diverse people from all walks of life coming together - the word I kept thinking about was "community". You can spend billions buying sycophants. Or a cigar. But all the billions cannot buy community. And that's why we will win.
This is a terrific examination of the cultural phenomenon A Minecraft Movie. I particularly love the John Waters quote: βIn order to know something is bad, one has to have good taste. But one also needs to be able to understand the value of bad.β
Trans flag.
Trans rights are human rights. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Our agency is, and always will be, a safe space.
On what is a really difficult day, here are some resources for our trans friends and allies.

"The big fight of our time is to get the public excited about moviegoing again, as an ongoing thing, not just for one Minecraft here and there."
As always a great piece from Richard Rushfield and The Ankler and a fun quiz (I scored a weak 6)
Ah, damn, the great William Finn has gone to the choir.
I sang The Games I Play at my drama school showcase about 20 years ago and fell in love with his work then. I took Mark's All Male Thanksgiving to so many auditions. Another tremendous loss. playbill.com/article/tony...
