Sakuya is kneeling in front of him.
She is holding his right hand.

PCV power regenerates slowly.
The pressure mounts.
At the limit—
Sakuya miscalculates.

A cluster of knives appears.
Shephard sees them.
Too late.
In 0.4 seconds—
Impact.
Knives scatter forward.
Each time a tracer strikes a blade, the knife shatters into particles and dissolves.
The exchange continues.
Seconds blur.
Twenty-five seconds in—
Sakuya accelerates.
Her control sharpens.
She attacks from multiple vectors, appearing and vanishing between frozen instants.
Combat begins.
The hall erupts with motion.
Shephard opens fire.
The M249 roars, tracer rounds cutting through the air.
Sakuya moves instantly—time distortion bending her trajectory.
She stops and turns to face Shephard—fifteen meters away.
Sakuya produces three throwing knives.
Shephard grips the M249 SAW.
The PCV suit gives no response.
Five seconds pass.
Sakuya’s expression hardens—focused, severe.
An unspoken signal.
She is not a maid.
She is an instructor.
At the base of the stairs, the space opens wide.
Resting at the center of the hall—
An M249 SAW, wrapped in a visible glow of youkai-infused energy.
Sakuya continues walking forward, then stops.
Sakuya Izayoi:
“Stay right there, Corporal.”

Sakuya turns and walks down the corridor.
Shephard follows.
They pass through the quiet halls of the mansion, descending a staircase leading toward the lower levels—near the grand hall.

Sakuya Izayoi:
“Shephard? Why are you awake at this hour?”

A brief pause.

After a brief pause, he picks up the respirator and helmet.
He equips both.
He rises from the bed.
The room is dim, lit only by moonlight filtering through tall windows.
To his right and left—no one.
On a nearby table rests a full cup of untouched tea.
Beside it: his helmet and respirator.
Shephard reaches for the tea.
He drinks—slow, grounding.
Three seconds pass.
The text fades out.
