I've gone back and forth between iPhone and Android in the ~20 years I've had a "smartphone". The biggest annoyance of switching from iPhone to Android is it being a pain to get all my photos centralized in Apple Photos.

Living the car-free dream in Philly. Philly public school parent. Brompton Bicycles are the ultimate urban life hack. I only really care about Philly issues; it’s not my job to provide context to my posts for non-Philly folks.

I'm so tempted to go back to Android. Google Fi is offering a great promo--you get either the Pixel 10 for free or the 10 Pro for only $199. The service plans are great for people who travel internationally a lot. They also throw in cellular service for your watch for free if you have a Pixel watch.
For the first time ever, Open Streets will occur for seven consecutive weeks on West Walnut!
A total of 20 dates have been announced for 2026, starting with the spring season on Sundays from April 5 to May 17 along Rittenhouse Row.

Americans drive a lot more than people in other rich countries.
If we didn’t drive so much, we wouldn’t die in so many crashes.
It’s a simple point, but one that NHTSA, traffic engineers, and many road safety org’s have yet to learn.
Me, in Bloomberg 🧵
I didn’t realize he’s had such a troubled life post-career. I’m just remembering him as a ball player.
I’ll eventually swap him out for someone more morally and ethically worthy of being displayed on the back of my phone. 😁
Getting featured in the Billy Penn newsletter - it's a dream come true! Still feeling all the good feels from our collab with @sarahmackattack.bsky.social
Instead of putting a Pokémon card in the back of my phone case, I have a Lenny Dykstra card. 😀
The green Donruss cards from 1991 match my green iPhone really well.
USA is through. 😅 The Italians saved them from a historic failure and embarrassment.
USA baseball is almost definitely through to the WBC quarterfinals. Mexico would have to not allow any more runs and they have to score exactly 4 runs.
Micromobility in Philly 🛴🚲
The electric trike is really interesting!
Local cyclists are helping native species thrive by scattering 'seed bombs' around North Philly. Billy Penn joined a Wednesday Night Rides and Skype a Scientist for a ride to learn more. billypenn.com/2026/03/11/p...
Hell yeah, got a write up in Billy Penn about the @wednightrides.org @skypeascientist.bsky.social collab.
Cyclists chucked seed bombs in abandoned lots last week. Wholesome as hell.

“If the Italy-Mexico game goes nine innings and Mexico wins and scores five or more runs, the U.S. -- the odds-on favorite entering the tournament -- and Mexico would advance. Should Mexico win while scoring four or fewer, it would advance alongside Italy.”

Open Streets has been a resounding success for Center City's economy, but it comes at a time when so many neighborhood street festivals are cancelling due to police overtime costs. Archer barriers are the solution, and the Mayor should fund them in the capital budget so people can rent them!
It’s been a joy to read physical books again and get nice notebooks along with refillable fountain pens and wood pencils.
Yes! The biggest scam of the 90s and 2000s was that we can save trees and the planet by recycling (despite continuing to sprawl our cities/suburbs) and going digital.
Whenever someone in 2026 claims to be saving trees by not using paper, I can’t help myself from interjecting and saying F that.
Folder Bike Guy in secret tunnel bike lane, WOW!
THIS SAT: big FOLDING BICYCLE RIDE to the @phillybikeexpo ! MEET 8:30 AM, 30th St. Station.
Not aggravated here. 😂
Higher gas prices are good!
For some reason, I have a lot of Lenny Dykstra baseball cards. I think God had a plan for me to live in Philly some day.
Now with artwork! We'll be tabling at Join Philly's Activity Fair on Sat Apr 12, 2026, 11a-3p at the Philadelphia Ethical Society. Stop by to say hi and find a new hobby www.joinphilly.com/events/2026-...
I'm going in a few weeks. Happy to pick stuff up for people in Philly. I got my favorite mug from there a few years ago!
One of my favorite stores in the world is the Spacing Store in Toronto. I don't know why every city doesn't have a store like it. It's not just a city-specific gift shop--it's an *urbanist* gift shop that celebrates buses, trains, bikes, density, and local culture.

Conservatives used to talk about how important energy independence is but even though we have the technology to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels, we’d rather engage in war and kidnap foreign leaders to maintain our oil dependency.
It is a systemic issue, but a lot of folks that are hurting because of the gas prices took an implicit bargain: you can have a big, new house in the sunbelt and live an air conditioned, cheap existence out of community with others. You just gotta accept that you just keep burning dino juice forever
I used to think there’s no way I could survive without Amazon Prime. But I’ve been able to significantly decrease my Amazon spending by not having it.
It’s hard trying to convince normal people not to shop at Amazon though bc it is super convenient.
Love seeing so many cops pulling over drivers today. 😂
Drops of God on Apple TV is probably generating millions of dollars of wine sales for Georgian wine producers.
Orange wine!
I didn’t realize there was such a big difference in selection of products across different Fine Wine and Good Spirits locations.
Apparently the one at 11th and Chestnut has more Georgian wines than others. Going to check it out.
I was admitted to the Univ of Illinois engineering program which would’ve been the logical choice but I wanted to get out of my Chicago/Illinois bubble so I went to school in Ohio.
I’m glad I did because I think it became my gateway to the Northeast which is where I’ve lived all my adult life.
