I don't think anyone's saying the Bible doesn't say that, just that a close reading shows that the earlier texts the others were mostly drawing on for their Jesus facts have a lot less of that, implying that having Jesus himself claim to be the son of god may have been a later addition

For instance to the extent a historical Jesus existed he was definitely not born in Bethlehem or in a manger, the three wise men definitely did not show up for his birth, he did not perform any miracles, was not a virgin birth, did not see himself as founding a religion separate from Judaism, etc
