There’s tanking, and then there’s what the Wizards pulled tonight

Maybe. Definitely would have more fouls to give as needed. If we see them again, might even have to try JT on him a little. If Wemby takes JT into the post, you chip and blitz him and make a non 3 point shooter beat you.

Fair, but just the act of having to shoot over someone around 7 feet tall can impact shooting percentages. Even if the shooter is 7’5”. Tonight he was getting pre-game warm up level looks.

Most of Wemby’s 3s were so open it was laughable. Spurs didn’t even have to run anything to get a switch. Literally went 5 out and passed the ball to Wemby at the top because our bigs were standing in the drop 12-15 feet away. Can’t just give uncontested shots like that. Have to challenge a bit.

Spurs played really well, but can’t help but feel cheated by the refs. You don’t eject JB like that. If we see the Spurs again, we’ll need to defend Wemby differently

We hung in there, but going to run out of gas it appears. DWhite played a hell of a game. This game does highlight the defensive problem we have. Teams with bigs who can shoot from 3 are a problem for us. We literally sat in the drop and dared Wemby to shoot. That only works vs non shooters.

Between the ref show, ejection, and Peacock cutting away for 5 minutes, this has been a shitty viewing experience

Second half we need to get back to better ball movement. We started settling for mediocre 3s instead of working for better looks.

Tanking and 3 point shooting are minor problems compared to the officiating. This is the issue Silver never addresses.
