Microsoft gave FBI a set of BitLocker encryption keys to unlock suspects’ laptops: reports The FBI served Microsoft a warrant requesting encryption recovery keys to decrypt the hard drives of people involved in an alleged fraud case in Guam.

Turns out that Microsoft's BitLocker security for the data stored on your hard drive is just a placebo.

Might as well give your password to everyone:

Major learning curve to use #fedora #coreos is how to create ignition file. #FCOS installation use that for installation configuration. There's no menu or wizard like other #linux distros.

Why? Because one of major goal of #FCOS is to enable easy mass deployment of similar configuration.

After […]

Is it cool that Linus Torvalds uses Fedora Linux? Yes!

But the really cool thing is to use the Linux distro that works best for you. :)

Having Linux get covered on LTT is such a big win for the open source community as more techies realize there is another way!

Fedora CoreOS rebasing to Fedora Linux 43 Fedora Linux 43 was released today [1]. The Fedora CoreOS testing stream has been rebased and is currently rolling out. This update will come to the stable stream in a few weeks. As of Fedora 43 updates are now built via a container workflow [2] and exclusively shipped via the quay.io/fedora/fedora-coreos container registry. This means updates no longer exist in the OSTree repo at https://ostree.fedoraproject.org [3]. For other Fedora 43 related changes you can see the full list of Fedora ...

PoC: Leveraging Butane during Ignition boot Converting Butane to Ignition on Boot We’ve received anecdotal evidence over the years that the transpilation step where you must convert a Butane YAML configuration into Ignition JSON before staring your CoreOS instance is a pain for users to understand and implement. CoreOS developers also feel this pain at times. What if you could feed either a Butane YAML config or an Ignition JSON config to your instance and it would just do the right thing regardless?

Should we enhance @fedora #coreos / Ignition to be able to pass in Butane configs directly? Check out this demo and add some feedback here or in the tracker issue.

Fedora COSMIC Spin The Fedora COSMIC Spin provides the COSMIC Desktop Environment from System76. A modern desktop that features advanced functionality and a responsive design. With optional Auto-tiling, newly opened windows arrange themselves in a grid. Use tiled, classic "floating" windows, or a mix of both across all workspaces. Have fun customizing theme colors to your liking. Save your favorite themes to your desktop and share with your friends.

Curious about @COSMIC_desktop? Give it a try with the Fedora COSMIC Spin!

*COSMIC still not out of alpha, but it's fun to try things :)

South Carolina raised a confederate flag over its state house in the 1960s to show contempt for desegregation and Black Americans pursuing civil rights.

Four decades later they moved it to a flagpole at a monument to men who died fighting to preserve chattel slavery.
