I'm back to working on the STO service map. Gatineau deserves a pretty system map. Brushing up on my french to try to make this system comprehensible but goddamn it's complicated. I've never made a map with so many info-boxes and I'm trying not to make it overwhelming.
one thing I've enjoyed doing on the STO map (and part of the reason it's taking so long) is lovingly stenciling in every single street to fill in the empty space while trying to maintain readability. I think it produced something really really pretty <3

Mayhaps I will make the scripts more robust and publish to GitHub as a CLI tool
It's a script I wrote in Python !! It uses my Google maps timeline (which you can download as a huge JSON file with Google takeout) and matches visits against US/Canada census regions, counts the visits, then plots them using the Folium Choropleth class :)
