Contrary to popular belief in the replies, Zohran Mamdani is in fact a Democrat who ran and won on the Democratic line

Finally watched and I sympathize with the movie it clearly wants to be, but thereβs just not enough there to work with
delightful replies
New: I spoke to Rev. Babs Miller, a lesbian pastor at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Austin, who has known James Talarico since he was "Jimmy." They told me about how Talarico's church formed his support for queer and trans people from a young age.

It's Friday the 13th, do you know where your Jasons are?
i am genuinely astonished by how this guy speaks exclusively in cliches
he might just be the most purely stupid leader of a major power in the history of humanity

Does Pete do a bump to counteract the booze before every presser is a question I ask myself way more than I should
No book is going to turn kids into someone else. But books will regularly show kids other people like them and show those kids they're not alone. And they'll show kids other types of people who also exist. There is a large proportion of the population who are terrified of this.
The political culture of the contemporary GOP is indistinguishable from that of the school shooter community
Happy 6th anniversary to the time Sarah Palin sang Baby Got Back on the Masked Singer and then the show changed to Trump's address to the nation about COVID.
Best partial victory out of western Maryland since Antietam
I don't think any political ideology is completely inoculated from antisemitism, but c'mon the person described here is not a progressive/leftist/liberal or whatever. they're that weirdly common kind of swing voter who just likes maverick types of literally any ideology.
The issue is not that βprogressives are antisemiticβ itβs that increasingly politicians can perform a little light antisemitism as part of building a populist coalition that both leftists and antisemites are happy with.
This is, as they say, bad for the Jews (itβs also bad for leftists).
βDemocrats only win if they do what I say. They wonβt so they lose. If they donβt and they win, itβs because conditions mean they couldnβt lose, but they could have won more if theyβd have done what I said, so that win is really a loss.β All of left social media, from center to fringe.
owillis.bsky.social 18 hours ago Democrats are on the path to winning this year, but it is by default. The party has done a horrific job on politics from almost the minute Trump was defeated in 2020. So, sure, they are winning right now - but it's because we have no other choices. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.
This world weary cynicism poses as knowledge but itβs actually just the mirror image evil twin of Murcβs Law. Only Democrats have agency *when they lose*, but when they win itβs only by default and because of Republicansβ agency.
I read the first two stories in Gabrielle Lucille Fuentesβs βAre We Ever Our Ownβ and they were excellent. Canβt wait to read the rest.
Their problem is primarily manpower. Drones are pretty easy and cheap to make lots of.
Huge relief to hear nobody was lost.

I'm getting questions about why there are trans characters in my Fantasy novel.
There's a simple answer: trans people don't need to justify existing.
Glad to clear that up!
A google maps view of the area around the Strait of Hormuz, with crude markup showing the 4 steps to successfully clearing the strait: 1. Build up speed 2. Hit Trampoline 3. Cool backflip 4. Nail the landing The boat is illustrated using a clip art yacht, and the trampoline is also just kind of floating there.
wait. wait. everyone hold on. i've solved it
When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.
All I know is when you got to WDW you got to do whatever it takes to kill, for a few days, the part of you that cringes
