I actually just got a shirt I ordered from you this morning. Had multiple people asking “are you Evil MoPac?” Your cult is strong around town.

And now that the confirmation that I've got the basic fundamentals around the platforms down, it's time to get move on to Solutions Architect and focus on actually applying them.
The interesting thing about getting layed off with a reasonable-ish severance, is you get some time to actually focus on things you find interesting.
I've spent almost two decades doing on-prem infra work. Translating that to cloud really does require learning a whole new vocabulary.
Being unemployed has given me time, and motivation, to get some of those professional certs I'd been pushing off. Initial Google Cloud one secured, now to get its AWS equivalent.
The printers will always be your responsibility, no matter what.
Senior IT Analyst & Custodian of the Lost SOPs is about as serious of a job title as LinkedIn deserves, right?
Anyone know if being mad about politic pays well?
Y’all, turns out the 9:15 AM meeting with a hidden guest list—scheduled the morning after an ominous restructuring email—was not, in fact, about a promotion.
Eight years with one company is a long run in tech. During that time I went three for four in dodging major layoffs—a pretty good average
If this wasn’t an immunocompromised child who couldn’t receive the MMR vaccine, then those parents gambled with their kid’s life—and lost. When preventable diseases kill due to willful neglect, there must be legal consequences. This isn’t just a tragedy; it’s reckless endangerment—waivers be damned.
The level of naivety displayed by these media organizations' decision-makers is truly breathtaking.
A federal judge has set a hard deadline for compliance with his existing restraining order over USAID funding. He wants receipts of what the government has done to comply with his earlier 2/13 restraining order.

I think its time for someone, who's qualified, to start making easy to understand slides about our rights under the 2nd, just like they have for 1st and the 4th.
At least my Congressman hasn't forgotten our allies.
One of the first things I'd tell anyone I ever gave a company issued device: you have no reasonable expectation of privacy using this device or any of the company's services. That means everything you think it does, act accordingly.
A true modern day Patriot.
To whoever runs the digital signage; you're a fucking patriot.
It's not just you. The silence from the FOUR living former Presidents about what's happening is deafening.
If you like waffles, but want some macros that aren’t abysmal Pure Protein makes a problematically good frozen waffle that fits that slot pretty well.
Better Than Good’s Pecan Smoked Bacon at H-E-B is a worthy addition to any list.
Pretty sure whole journalism classes are going to be taught about how WaPo went from Woodward & Bernstein breaking Watergate to plagiarists who prioritize kissing the asses of politicians instead of holding them accountable and censoring ads critical of the current administration.

After reading Radical Candor and discussing it with peers, it’s clear that managers who use it to justify being an asshole probably never actually read the book.
Interesting; and almost verbatim what chatGPT says. Gemini had some different thoughts:
Of course he didn’t. It might’ve made a difference.
I work at a pretty progressive tech company. I’d venture the vast majority of people I work with have no idea what goes in DC/Government; unless they’re on a team that interacts with it.
Most people are wildly uninformed about politics in any meaningful way.
A fine dog.
🗣️ @aoc.bsky.social out fighting for the people & federal workers: “Every day our job is to wake up and say ‘what can I do today?’ — There is no act too small. Every action matters.” 🇺🇸
Tyranny requires your fear, your silence, and your compliance.
Democracy requires your courage.
As a layperson - it felt like there was no push-back when Trump's campaign just lied through their teeth about things. The tinfoil hat inside me is convinced half the major news agencies _wanted_ another Trump term; chaos sells papers and gets eyes on the news. Stable boring politics doesn't.
@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov you should reach out to the Governor for some talking points.
