Advocacy groups go to DC to request funds be allocated in the budget for things that could benefit so many people, so seeing the staggering numbers of wasted funds is a big slap in the face.

I brought a slice of cold pizza upstairs to eat while I’m in the bath, then set it down to run the water and then… forgot where I put it. Anyway, maybe don’t follow me for life lessons unless you’re better at keeping track of your pizza. (I found it, btw. It was on top of my water bottle.)

The world is a really big trash fire, but I just need someone to give me a gold star for diagnosing and fixing the problem with my dishwasher. I have texted my daughters so they can be proud of me but it’s been two minutes and they haven’t texted back yet.

My love is for future me! I froze them so I can heat ‘em up in the toaster when I want waffles (yeah, I’d also made them thinking my college kid on winter break would want breakfast… but she didn’t… so… it’s fine. More for the freezer!)

Yesterday, I checked my phone before getting out of bed and immediately got caught up in *gestures wildly* alllll the things. Today, I decided my phone wasn’t my business and got up to bake bread and some sourdough discard waffles. And I was happier for it.

Exactly. I’ve also known people who’ve requested assistance and the AIRPORT brings them a wheelchair even though that wasn’t the accommodation requested or needed.
When you get a hair cut to fix a haircut you don’t like and it just makes you hate your hair more. This is totally a first world problem AND I’m glad I can probably get away with wearing beanies for the next three months.
And that’s what sidelined me all day today and most of yesterday. Stupid sinuses 👎

The finished product! The crumb also probably impacted by pepperoni pieces - so it may not be the prettiest loaf, but it’s good! (And I am so glad I asked for a new bread knife for Christmas)
I’m kinda scared to look - but when it cools down, I’ll share it! I’m kinda surprised there was decent rise to it. Also trying to figure out how I’m gonna serve this - sandwiches? Dipping sauces? Who knows!!

I’ve also made two loaves of classic sourdough in case this experiment is disgusting. I’ll report back.
A pepperoni pizza sourdough, swapping out some of the water for pizza sauce, with chopped pepperoni and Parmesan added during stretch and folds (I worried about the texture of mozz clumps when the bread cooled, and figured parm was a safe bet).
A fresh baked boule of pizza sourdough on a piece of parchment paper, cooling on a rack. There are spots of flour on the top of the loaf because the baker did not brush it off well enough.
She’s a lil bit toasty, but she’s pretty — and smells amazing.

Yeah. I aspire to that…sort of… but my kitchen is small. If stuff isn’t on the counter, I don’t know where it’s going. I may have counter clutter but it’s clean.
