Prob because they just wanted them out! ER staff generally hate cops, it's always fun when I'm in an ER to see a nurse or Dr kick cops out when they interfere with one of the patients care. I've personally had nurses engage in a power struggle with cops (in Sicily) when just trying to talk to me!
