I’ve been running again (keeping it moderate and low miles). I’m still getting small twinges from the shin splints but I am definitely feeling better on that front and I’m following all the guidelines so I’m good with my slow pace.

But this morning I was on the struggle bus for other reasons. 😂

Having a swim buddy really makes a difference because even a few weeks ago there’s no way I could have done 4 lengths of butterfly 😂 (which is sad considering I swam the 100 at conferences and managed to place one year but uff, that was never my stroke!)

I’d call it a win 😉

We had friends in town from ND this weekend (they used to live here but moved up there years ago) and it was great to see them but I need to remember I am 45 and spending that much time at bars is dumb at my age. I am feeling very lazy today 😂

I had a customer tell me I was a treasure a while back and I’ve been going around telling people about this awesome compliment I received. The second half of his statement was that someone should bury me for safekeeping, so it clearly wasn’t a compliment, but I’m choosing to take it that way 😉

Friend invited me to a Chef’s Table 5 course lunch today (dessert not pictured) and omg was it good. I’m also so full I may never eat again (worth it).

Yep. Swimming is one of the activities they suggest switching to since it’s less impact on it, and it’s something I like and wanted to do more of anyway so I figure that was a sign 😆. I’ll get back to running eventually, I’m just going week by week.

Yeah, but it’s hard to sit out on the things you love doing. I was reading online that if you can hop on one leg with minimal pain you can go back to running while it continues to heal, and I can do that but it definitely hurt after so I had to ask myself if it was really worth it

I got really bad shin splints 😕. It’s not a problem I generally have so it kind of took me by surprise. At this point in general it doesn’t bother me, but if I prod at one area it’s still pretty sore (so of course I keep touching it) and it’s hurt a little bit after swimming even

I got my bf some goggles and he actually suggested going swimming with me today. I like doing mini workouts with him. It’s cool that he’s interested in going with me. Now if I could just get my shin to feel better … I wanted to start running again this week but it’s still very sore

I think she’s not entirely sure what to do with herself. I have to do some hardcore cleaning of the bathroom she was in, but I’m glad she’s out and getting reacquainted with her cat siblings.
