It's a weird feeling when your sister in law sends a snap of storms rolling through and your mother in law says something in the background and you realize you'd rather be watching the storm with them than your own parents/sibling.

Getting older is weird. We got to watch 2 episodes of one of our favorite shows, I played a little catch up at work, and the kids were in bed at a reasonable time, and I can't imagine a better Friday night.
Going to start getting extraordinarily drunk or high before I step into Costco again so I'm at the exact same level of cognitive function as everyone else.
Kid face down in the bottom of a grocery store cart while another sits like a normal non-troglodyte in the seat.
I swear to god I knew that my life would change in virtually every single way when I had kids but I can't say I expected this to be an average grocery store trip
Jesus Christ Almighty, if you have to ask people to turn their cameras on during a meeting, read the room. No one wants to be here. Keep your pick-me teachers pet energy to yourself.
Great. 2 more AI tools at work on top of the 2 we already were using. Can't wait for them to ask me to use it to develop software with it to handle some tech debt, without the software dev salary.
Jesus, what new stupid trend has people flooding my Facebook feed with AI slop this time?
Finally got the metrics pulled for my server hardware and visualize. Time for the CPU swap then a rewire because I bummed cat5 wire and it's only negotiating to 100 meg. After that, hypervisor install then planning the VMs and VLANs then the prep work is done. #grafana #idrac #homelab
There's something special about having your closest friends around and interacting with your kids and treating them like a niece and nephew. It's just really nice when your friends become your village.
Finally got around to redoing the rack with a buddy's help. Wildly not toddler proof, surely it won't bite me in the ass.

Also, AJR can be the Macklemore of the Indie scene without the controversy. Period.
Cowboy Boots is a masterpiece of a song.
How do you tell a toddler that he can't see thunder because that's a sound and you can't see sounds, not because Mommy and Daddy are assholes?
Feeling the urge to post a reasonable take about all this Charlie Kirk shit on FB knowing full well all the hard right pundits will shit their paints at me for not having sympathy for someone who spent their life spewing hate. There's zero chance Hasan Piker would have this public response.
Welp. Senior Platform Engineer it is.
Might have just gotten senior engineer?
Kubershitty project day 0: physical infra. Step 1: exploit your homeboy with a 3d printer. Print rack mount hardware to hold your router, switch, and raspberry Pis. Make your rack pretty for wife approval, but "pretty" rack management means toddler height cat cables. This surely won't be problematic
I guess I'll just use this as a shitty blog for what will undoubtedly be the stupidest kunernetes deployment with the worst attempt at best practices the world will ever see.
Welp. Time to become a different level of nerd. Time to spin up a whole k8s environment. Time to spin up the tinnitus machine and put this 48 core, 256 GB RAM big chungus to use. Gonna have to figure out storage. I have 1tb so I'm gonna have to figure out an expandable option for non OS storage.
Fuckin HR and their arbitrary bullshit. Why the hell are there objective job level duties if you're not going to promote based on them
The most annoying thing about home labbing is standing up all your services just to decide to re-architect everything every so often so it works better and add new stuff in. Now I have to back everything up so I can blast the OS just so I can poison AIs that crawl my shit and ignore my do not crawl
To my neighbor using a chainsaw at 7AM on a weekend, your mom's a hoe
@microsoft.com hey can you help me with an issue? I got first place in a Microsoft sponsored hackathon and the price was 1 CLEARLY used Xbox One S. It was a 2 person team. That's just not an acceptable prize for the effort that went into such a condition. Along with 1 prize for a 2 person team.
I guess being a parent is getting hurled on by 2 separate kids in 12 hours
Won an Xbox at a hackathon today. Which sounds great in concept until you see it's an obviously heavily used, last generation model. 1 Xbox for a 2 person team. Like what the fuck man, was I supposed to do a custody agreement if my teammate was a gamer?
Well we had a good run. Go Spartans, #HailState #Izzone
Shit same. Aside from switching to like Graphene or something, Android is just losing in the privacy department lately.
Sometimes you have to have meetings with people that are just weaponized incompetence. Sometimes, they raise a good point for the wrong reason, so you have to spend a few hours rewriting your app and changing logic for a wild ass edge case, but your app is better for it.
The music in Moana goes harder than it has any right to. Right up there with Tarzan and I die on that hill.
