I just had virtually the same conversation with my nephew (humanities edition) - he’s graduating college in May and had wanted to go into academia but says it’s totally infeasible with so many departments not taking grad students and funding drying up.

I read the “Save America Act,” so you don’t have to. Most of the media apparently *hasn’t* read it because, if they had, they would be sounding the alarm about the provision in Point 1, below, which almost none of them have even mentioned. I hope this summary helps raise awareness. 1/

I firmly believe that this is the job of the news. To not only report what’s “new” or how, for example, repeat how Trump softens his language on immigration during the Midterms, but to remind people how reckless and abusive ICE was just months prior.

I think about this a lot.

The killing of schoolchildren should shock our conscience and cause us to recoil in horror. A nation whose leaders can so easily shrug off the death of children, no matter the cause, is in need of moral repair. There must be accountability and lessons learned from this tragedy. Shouldn't be rare to see this said by a US senator

I long warned fellow members of the Muslim community that at some point the GOP would return to demonizing Muslims. The GOP simply rotates their hate depending on need. Their hatred towards Latinos is costing them votes so now it's Muslims. Soon they will be back to LGBTQ, Blacks, women and repeat.
