In the 1920s, there was an enormous Klan-aligned caucus in the House of Representatives that passed an immigration restriction bill designed to keep out Catholics and Jews because they supposedly posed an existential threat to American civilization. 100 years later, here we are.
I think about this a lot.
The killing of schoolchildren should shock our conscience and cause us to recoil in horror. A nation whose leaders can so easily shrug off the death of children, no matter the cause, is in need of moral repair. There must be accountability and lessons learned from this tragedy. I long warned fellow members of the Muslim community that at some point the GOP would return to demonizing Muslims. The GOP simply rotates their hate depending on need. Their hatred towards Latinos is costing them votes so now it's Muslims. Soon they will be back to LGBTQ, Blacks, women and repeat.
Ms Rachel has shifted from advocating for children killed by bombs that our taxes pay for, to advocating for children that our government is imprisoning without cause, which our taxes also pay for.
This isn’t what a kid’s entertainer should feel the need to do, but since we’re here, more ppl should.
