'The people who make our lives more difficult arrive in private jets, not dinghies.'
Foundation's Edge, the fourth installment in Isaac Asimov's Foundation series
It's been a while since I've read fiction. I picked up #Foundation a few weeks back - I recognised Asimov's name from a short story I read years ago. Now I'm happily tearing through the series - it's class to be caught up in a story again.
#Asimov
you make him sound appealing!
Amazing work by The Elephant Graveyard. Intelligent, insightful and depressingly funny as usual, but this one is a real piece of genius. It's long-form but well worth the watch - a subject that at first might seem trivial is instead quite serious and important.
Friends of the Earth supporters in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal are interested in forming a local group.
If you are interested too, please get in touch at info@foe.ie and we will link you with them, thanks.
Great colour choice 👏
I also finally got my hands on Drawdown which I’m excited to read next. I got this 2nd hand from Biblio for like £3, pretty great! Paul Hawken’s The Ecology of Commerce was one of the first climate books I picked up, so I’m looking forward to more of his work.
Two books: Not the End of the World written by Hannah Ritchie and Drawdown edited by Paul Hawken.
I’m about halfway through Not the End of the World by @hannahritchie.bsky.social. It’s fantastic to have a factual frame like this to view the climate crises through. Mainstream exposure can be overwhelming and often leaves me feeling directionless, but this helps anchor the situation in reality.
EU leaders are meeting today to discuss the EU’s 2040 climate targets. 🎯 @loreleilimousin.bsky.social from @greenpeace.fr has a few words for them.
The science on climate change is clear, yet politicians continue to delay their commitment to protecting our future. 💔

Those lucky enough to be going to #Glastonbury - after you've crawled out of your tent and had your breakfast check out The Fight To Save Our Waters panel, should be a good one
Another reason for me to be sad I didn't get a ticket 🙃 Looks like a great panel
June 21 is Show Your Stripes Day—a time to spark conversation about how our world is warming.
This video shows how @noaa.gov temperature data for the U.S. is turned into the iconic stripes visualizations you may see shared today and tomorrow.

You could even say they're the best catalysts for productivity. Flow is productivity that feels good.
Interesting read and cool methodology Eoin :) Story points etc are all nice in theory but I fully agree that vibes and feelings are more important in practice. There's a lot of focus on "productivity" these days but satisfaction and purpose are equally important (1/2)
I've never been so excited about toilet roll. Cheers to Who Gives A Crap for their recent promo on 48 packs. A simple #plasticfree product alternative. I can't wait to wipe my
