Every American needs to watch this:
Ok but thatβs a banger tweet
7yo: βDid you have stickers back in the 1900s?β
7yo has his first loose tooth and itβs very exciting. But he already had his grown up teeth popped up behind the loose ones and it looks like staring into a sharks mouth rn
The killing of Alex Pretti and the grotesque lying was an overreach by the administration. They've paid a price and had to pull back a bit. But it's when there's some disarray that the democratic opposition needs to intensify the offensive, and turn a marginal tactical success into a major victory.
r/xbiking comes through.
Iβve played since Vanilla launch. The game both has more depth and is more approachable than ever before. Theyβve found a way to continually introduce new things while pruning stuff that got stale. The same core concepts are there but theyβve evolved and the things theyβve always done well
FWIW I think WoW is the most fun itβs ever been
Anyway all of this reminded me of the various Twitter API apocalypses in a number of ways.
I suspect this will be true for most of the playerbase. Navigating addons sucks. Having it natively will be a better solution for most users. But the power user part of the playerbase is going to feel incredibly screwed (even if it turns out they can mostly do what they were doing before.)
And a lot of people are very upset that the third party UX addons they were using are now broken either permanently or temporarily. Obviously this makes sense.
But I have to tell you. As a casual+ player? Blizz kinda crushed it. The new native UX is just better for me than what we had before.
The important point is that folks thought this was the end of all addons and that is very much not the case.
But what is also true is that Blizzard wanted to offer natively a lot of the core third party UX enhancements that people were getting from addons.
In this latest release, Blizzard has clawed back a number of API hooks, limiting the way addons can work.
Now, there is a lot of nuance I wonβt unpack here in terms of what Blizzard said they were doing, how it was interpreted by players and addon devs, and what they ended up releasing.
For lo these many years there has been a robust third party developer ecosystem for Warcraft. This has enabled a high degree of customization of the player experience. In particular there are add-ons that both assist you to play the game better and allow you to completely replace the default UI.
I am a casual+ World of Warcraft player. Yesterday the βpre patchβ for the next big expansion of the game dropped, introducing a bunch of new stuff. One of the biggest changes is the so-called AddOn Apocalypse.

Me: βBaby Iβve been wondering that for 40yearsβ
Opening scene of Industry s4e1 starts with a montage set to New Orderβs True Faith. Best news of 2026 thus far.
Greatest world builder of all time and then heβs like: βOh yeah, btw Merry writes a history on weed.β
Legend shit.
Itβs a funny bit of authorial interjection that every character who survives the adventures in Lord of the Rings settles down to write a history or appendix of some sort.
Maybe the FBI will be honest and not cover up, harass witnesses, destroy evidence, and obstruct justice. And maybe my hair will grow back.
If the FBI agents do what I think theyβre going to do, though, we should know their names, and they should never have another day of peace.
they're doing it for gender, imo
The Hobbit film trilogy is kind of mid but Lee Pace as Thranduil is worth it. In this scene heβs really making some choices.
Itβs going to get better from here. 2026 is our year; I feel it.
He canβt be stopped so weβre just trying to contain
Update: he stole $100 from his mom
Update: He nearly cracked a rib jumping off a ladder
He had a friend shatter his wrist in a falling accident right in front of him. And rather than be a deterrent this has convinced him he is invincible.
Preview of a future disaster:
7yo: βdo cats always land on their feetβ

Me: βtheyβre just good at landingβ
7yo: βam I good at landing?β
