Let's compromise and show Churchill dressed up in a badger costume. I see Austen as more of a rabbit and Turing as a squirrel. I think he'd like that.

What a beatiful creation!
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
We built something that really really worked. Then watched it get switched off because we simply couldn't afford to keep the servers turned on
Civic tech is tough just now
Ooh, never tried this, but I do love listening to (classical) music while reading the score. Each medium enhances the other: the ink tells me what to listen for, and the sounds tell me what the ink sounds like. So I can (hear?) see the appeal.
I love this from @fryrsquared.bsky.social: we should treat AI tools like they're "an Excel spreadsheet that's really capable." They're not god-like or sentient, but nor are they just spicy auto-complete (anymore). They are powerful tools that can be really, really useful (with many caveats).
i've written a few words about using AI to help my pal with cerebral palsy:

i know a lot of you here may find ir difficult to stomach, but AI is not inherently evil, and can be used for good [at least some of the time]
Quite the twist in the (fascinating) tale!
Okay, this is quite outstanding from Bedford Council.
Happy pancakes, to those who celebrate #yumyum
Wow.
Who won?
(The map competition, not the war. I know that one...)
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Ideas are green
And colourless too
Everyone my age is in their 50's. This doesn't seem right or fair.
In praise of librarians
I got invited to a seminar called "Enrage with facts!" which sounded like a fun challenge.
On closer inspection it was "Engage with facts!" which is a lot more... worthy.
sir ian mckellen's incredible performance of an obscure, but eerily relevant, shakespearean monologue

Happy February!
Welcome to most underrated and fastest improving month. You start in the depths of winter and end waking up in the light to the sound of birds singing, to the sight of snowdrops, daffodils and early blossom in the trees

Ah, if that was *really* London, surely the fox would be on its phone too...
me, emotionally writing an essay on the use of force by federal agents: ok but what if i packaged this in the most insane way possible www.theverge.com/policy/86857...
Thank you Rob! I just spent 20 happy minutes watching you fill in a spreadsheet. But now I have to get back to work. Filling in a spreadsheet, but with renewed purpose.
I think I might take one of these "under 20 minutes" AI skills courses the UK Govt. seems very keen on everyone doing and live-post it here... Maybe we can all learn something together! The press release sends me to aiskillshub.org.uk/aiskillsboost/ - let's go and see!
Wonder what caused the slight dip in the year, er, 5006?
This investigation is fascinating and enraging, and exactly why I pay for a subscription to London Centric.
I'm not religious at all but this is a lovely and strangely hopeful story β€οΈ
Lovely! I'll listen to all his speeches like this from now on!
Tesco just arrived with my delivery. The driver handed me a bag and said βThereβs a couple of substitutions, hereβs your sprig of rosemary and haddock.β
I said to him βThis isnβt the thyme or the plaiceβ
I realise I'm just a freak, but living in a multicultural city is the best thing of all time, it's just the best possible human experience and i can not understand why anyone on earth would be like "weve got to destroy this"
Makes me want an exoskeleton now π’
"My bar is so high that the standards have to be extended to reach it" - genius writing!
