didn't say to be sorry anywhere
they don't need to apologize for others creating these conditions
just because others want it doesn't put it on anyone to apologise for feeling this way
unless you disagree, but you do you

Four-panel comic. Panel 1: Character says, 'Greetings, King Something.' Panel 2: Character introduces another as, 'Lord This Guy, son of Someone, son of Someone Else.' Panel 3: Character struggles, 'From the city of, um, the right one?' Panel 4: Character admits, 'I maybe could have taken notes.'
Ever forgotten a crucial NPC detail mid-session? What's your best tip for keeping track of everything during a game?

That's the trick, I don't:
I always play dumb characters.
Kidding aside, we usually have designated roles, and specifically a Note Taker.
If they fail then it's on then but we all take loose notes.
If we all fail, that's a skill issue. Games need notes bruh
Oh yeah I imagine, but it's probably easier than creating art, and can do a lot of the work and add a lot of similar flavour
Content is king!
Oh Bonus I missed:
Add Bold Text / Capital Case to key terms like "2 Actions", etc to help the text have more texture
Also Italic Text for some flavour lines with callouts as well to add flavour and break up space!
TTRPG spread for Horizon Zero Dawn . Feedback: - Hierarchy: Headline (Characters) could take up the full width to really frame the column. Also should be bigger than Headline 2 (H2), which seems it is not. Alignment: Text below can indent but I'd avoid that unless it's very specific like Bullets or a Call out. Use text and spacing to show hierarchy. Tablez should also align w column, and ensure there's more space between tables/columns
Sorry using Alt Text for feedback on a TTRPG page with text Same feedback as previous page with some extras: Icons are neat but a small key could help clarofy and add some visual dynamism If they exist elsewhere then it might be ok but feels most relevant here. Spacing between Headline 3, body text and icons is very tight Actions seems repeated as a Section Headline and a sub-section Headline? Perhaps there's a better word for the main section? Overall quite good though, texture is nice, and it feels neat and easy to read. If you want, add some more triangle graphics combined with. cropped parts of previously used images in some of the gaps, but do so more to bookend sections (like the bottom right corner here) The "fractal" triangle effect w parts of images gives you huge room to play w texture and composition even if reusing images
Seems I can't DM until you follow me so I'll share here!
I cheated and added a lot of feedback in Alt Text. Accessibility Gods forgive me but I get more characters π
In summary it's two areas to improve: Hierarchy and Alignment
To add content, consider cropped parts of existing images π
Hey I can DM feedback or do it here up to you!
Time to listen to Radiohead and fall into the abyss.
This is amazing. Straight burn from ~800 years ago

Absolutely! I'll get back later with some thoughts
But please add a healthy amount of salt, I'm no expert and also learning!
It's good to be self-critical!
I mean I can't respond right now but I'll try to get back!
p.s I'm by no means an editorial or TTRPG Layout expert, but I am a product designer so I can provide some input π
Another solution is Publicly available art?
But it's hard for sure, not diminishing the challenge!
But it looks good! I think you just needs a few refinements and this style can work artless perfectly!
I think page layout and visual design (type, colours, etc) more than makes up for lack of art.
Art is good to break up sections of the book or file but imo it can work w graphic design
Only issue is if you have tons of art that then just stops! Then it feels weird
I love the "guide in character sheet" #ttrpg concept for Mothership and other games doing it.
But does this mean a sheet without it makes the game inferior?
Or does this only work for "simpler" sheets?
Is there a happy medium? I am inspired by it either way!

hey, how about at some point during a big pivotal moment in your #ttrpg with an NPC, you ask your players
"So, does this NPC do a? or do they do b?"
Neither is an optional choice, just dramatic.
Go! Do it!
Interesting to see the negative response D&D 5e hacks get #ttrpg design spaces.
On the one hand, it's just a distaste for an, at best, flawed system.
On the other hand, a lot of the time 5e Hacks are pretty poor, due to the lack of experience from the hacker.
P.S I am one of those 5e hackers π¬

Based on two great other nuances, here's a take:
TTRPG sessi are actually "happenings" in the post modern art sense
they're single artistic expressions exclusive to time
Had a player state they're "enjoying the new #ttrpg game but they're more excited about our 6 year long campaign sessions"
To me this is pretty obvious, but I wonder what would the opposite mean?
I wish the new game was AMAZING but new rules, world, table and campaign needs time.
Am I wrong?
"Doom running on GURPS"
Ooo, so they're game engines?
Your last saved meme is your moral philosophy (last saved =/= bsst)
It's so funny how 90% of problems with #dnd be solved with:
Make it harder than you think your players can handle.
Considering adding "Near Miss" vs a "miss", akin to Partial Success and Full Success in our #ttrpg
Miss is <= 5 to the DC, as usual, you miss.
But a Near Miss is >5 and may add a condition, such as Off Balance or Distracted.
And this works both ways! Now a Miss won't always be missed opportunity
If you ask someone how Into the Odd has streamlined their games, they will probably mention removing the "to hit" roll and just rolling damage.
I blasphemously ask the question: can we re-incorporate accuracy and missed attacks with Into the Odd without turning it into a major slog?

Designing levelling up as a built in sequence in our #trrpg
There's a narrative step lead by the players, followed by a roll to determine a boon tied to a background character moment, leading to actual skill selection.
Ties in with the current adventure and player background.
Not unique, but fun!
Ooo sick!
