Hello. My name is John Titor. Don't ask me about the future. I only need to source a computer system with a working graphics processor that isn't dependent on any LLM systems to function.

A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live.

"This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario."

The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.

NintenDeen: "Simple: Nintendo is so depraved that they'd exploit a global crisis to boost the player count of the failed Mario Kart World and force consumers back into the Switch 2 ecosystem to boost sales and player numbers."

PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD."

Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not

A 16-year-old baby is born! Miracles do happen. After three years under the Netflix umbrella, Spry Fox is once again a fully independent studio. As a studio, we’ve managed to somehow survive countless industry upheavals and release a whole lot o…

Something positive: Spry Fox is spinning out of Netflix. We are independent (once again!) and preparing to launch Spirit Crossing.

We wrote up a little blog post musing about this wild adventure. Worth sharing the good news.

i think the thing is the payment for the article alone isn't worth it for them, it's only worth it if it comes with access to market to you, convert you to a recurring customer etc

Nintendo’s Genre Innovation Strategy: Thoughts on the Revolution’s new controller I’m still jet lagged from my recent trip overseas, but I managed to stay awake for the new Nintendo controller announcement. I must say that I’m feeling like an excited Japanese school boy waiting …

The majority of human discourse seems to break down into β€œit would be bad if this were true so it’s not true” or β€œit would be good if this were true so it’s true” with a side of β€œyou caused this bad thing to happen by telling me about it”.

Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. America begins to forget at a geometric rate. It loses self-awareness at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

Of course that’s your contention. You’re a first year Fediverse power-user. You just got finished reading about how Bluesky isn’t decentralized β€” Christine’s blog post probably β€” and you’re convinced that AT Protocol is a flash in the pan while ActivityPub is the real hope for the web’s future.
