Fun game! I've been gearing up to run DC by Night.

Wow. Sounds like you're familiar with this playbook though. Good luck and stay safe!
Oof that is a mess. Has the storm passed otherwise?
Toast can still jam!
Guess it's a funnel game now
But it wouldn't be bullshit! You *do* have feelings about it and you *do* want to talk about them. Can't deflect the truth!
Tell them you have feelings about that and would like to discuss them more regularly.
What can they say to that?!
We just binged this over the holiday break. I was vaguely aware of it but we stumbled right down the rabbit hole.
Definitely looking forward to more.
Just another RPG Evolution for you. Your next iteration will be fit for whatever comes.
But enjoy some rest until then!
I read the PDF as soon as it dropped to preorder folks. Hardcopy feels great in hand.
Really loving the Renegade Essence20 line and had a blast running a campaign with it last year.
Excited to see where these lines go next.
That's a fun insight into a lot of game history right there.
So I started a Vampire: the Masquerade game as a play-by-post Discord campaign. First time. Lots of solo scenes and small group stuff. And one Mage, doing their solo thing in the same city.
What are the best resources to dive into? Running 20th ann edition, not 5th.

Look at the way he's holding his blanket!
Funny enough, my players dislike survival play. We've tried different systems and approaches, but they're not huge on big open sandboxes and survival play.
But they're very much engaging with the 'world interaction' playstyle AD&D encourages.
Walking the line between the two is tricky for sure.
Clearly they've not seen all the Indiana Jones movies.
Yikes. Hope they didn't pick any fights while split. Getting sidelined while another half of the group runs an encounter isn't fun.
Of course, once that happens, it's a good teaching moment so they'll be less likely to split up...
My AD&D players are really taking command of their game now. After 2 sessions of mostly flailing from encounter to encounter with no prep, now they're recruiting henches, scouting areas, and carefully prepping battlefields before picking fights.
Fascinating to watch them adapt.

Ahhh. A pool of 7 players, expecting that 5 player group at the table. That makes sense.
I thought you were aiming for 7 player rumbles at the table all the time. Those are some OD&D numbers.
That's a big group, and certainly more than modern game designers assume will gather. Why do you feel 7 is best?
Or... arena battle!
Only the fittest for this campaign.
I have enjoyed all of these.
Happy belated! Hope the day and the session went well!
... but what if I change my mind later about whatever brilliant idea I think I have now?
Amazing!
Yeah I've still got players I have to ask to roll by shape..
You made em roll! Classic. I usually push point buy in 5e since stats are so important.
But I've been running AD&D and we've been rolling. Glorious stuff.
Yeah! Placing class first emphasizes the dominance of mechanics over narrative. Those other choices are now secondary to building an optimal PC.
Hope it was a blast once you got rolling.
If you get too many, it's survival of the fittest. Funnel game!! Real stakes to learn the rules!!
... unless you want them to have fun, I guess. Maybe save the funnel for the experienced folks.
