We are not fighting over policy or political party.
We are fighting over whether we are going to be a civilization rooted in empathy and kindnessβor cruelty and rage.
Choose your side.
This is why I always put one of our brand logo stickers on my work laptop to make it easier to remember which one is which π
here's a guide for getting good with agents you don't need to change a thing other than your perspective dora.dev/capabilities...
As one does
Iβm not certain we didnβt take you seriously when you said that
Or at least no less seriously than anything spoken at Parrotβs
One night, about 15 years ago, I told @matty.wtf @localcelebrity.bsky.social @chicagoleah.bsky.social and others that Roombas were the first step toward Terminators and everyone was all βhahahaβ but I am just here to say I was right.

One place I'm seeing coding agents (I don't want to say "vibe coding") as very useful to me is the use case of "I have an internal tool for my team I need to build" π§΅
this thread may or may not have made me think of @phrawzty.com as I always do when I talk about airtable
Basically RIP Airtable for me (we had a good run, I used to love you)
Anyway, for this use case, it's great to use these agents. I'm less worried about super duper hardening like I would for a real production app that external/public users would use, etc
(caveat: I know a thing or two about infrastructure and security and such, so it's not being ignored)I
Plus also, as those tools decide they want to do other things, it gets harder and harder to use them
i've done so much "let me cram this idea and use case into how Asana/Notion/Airtable thinks about the world" and that's caused me no end of agita in the past
This is powerful to me, at least, because I used to LOVE Airtable for this kind of thing. I built so many things in Airtable for tracking conf talks for my teams, content inventories, etc. But...
a) you have to work within what those tools want
b) it is costly to expose to the rest of your team
In the past, I would have used something like Airtable, Coda, or Notion (for example) to build out basically the equivilent of "how would I have done this back in the 90s in Microsoft Access"
Now I can have my little coding agent helper build with me a web frontend and database for this

Great post from @jeffersonstarchip.bsky.social

I finally got around to converting a talk that I have given a few times into a blog post about some of the key differences between #DevEx and Developer Productivity.

The President of the United States, Donald Trump, must resign tonight.
If he does not, Congress must impeach him.
We shouldnβt have had to wait for a report that he punched a 13 yr old in the head for not sucking his cock correctly but yeah, this ought to be the end.
I went through the State of #DevOps report and I have... thoughts. I still need to crystallize some of my opinions on what I saw in this report, but I was interested in the heavy correlation between "mature DevOps" and "AI successful".
I'm not surprised. (1/x)

Buffer time!
This song and βdo you want to date my avatarβ may or may not be in multiple of my driving playlists
Wait according to the IMDb it was a Hunt for Red October reference, so Firefly must have referenced that and not originated it (a maneuver called a Crazy Ivan)
I also just noticed a throwaway Firefly reference in S1E8 that i never noticed before!
I am self soothing with Lower Decks
I am stressed out and anxious and bordering on nonfunctional, but the good news is I donβt have anything I need to do
Following todayβs SCOTUSβ ruling against Trumpβs tariffs, Illinois Gov. Pritzker sent an invoice to the White House asking for a reimbursement for his constituents.
Did you see her in Chicago a few months ago? Amazing.
"THIS IS JUST DOGE!" Tell me you have no capacity for critical though without telling me.
That's like comparing doing surgery with a cleaver versus doing surgery with a scalpel.
Someone IN a department who UNDERSTANDS the work is NOT like a shithead named "Big Balls" coming in with a neutron bomb.
