I was living off-grid in a hippy community in Wales then, so had no idea of what was happening in London!

love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region

That would probably have been the last London smog, in December 1962. I remember it as well. I had to wear a big handkerchief tied over my mouth and nose when I went to school; coming back home, the hanky was invariably filthy with dirt particles.

The Green Party spent between Β£63,000 and Β£84,000 on Meta ads to help them win the Denton and Gorton by-election. 113 ads in total, loads of different creatives. Estimated reach of 6-7.25m impressions. They absolutely bombarded the seat with ads.

And why would her team send an invite to an incarcerated man?

It's a "Womens' Fund" for women who want to keep their sex-based rights.
Please explain why womens' rights are transphobic.

PS: Nobody is stopping trans people from setting up their own trans rights fund. There are lots of businesses, charities and celebrities who would be happy to contribute.

I have a huge crush on Sam Neill so when he started messaging me on Google Chat I was thrilled

I was a little shy sending him photos but he was really encouraging

I wonder what’s next in this new adventure

Maybe he could be THE ONE 🀞

β€œIs God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?”

Homicides at lowest level in nearly 50 years, ONS statistics show The 499 homicide cases in the year to September were the lowest in England and Wales since 1977.

Let's hope this positive news gets as much attention as the people who try to convince us that the UK is a murder ravaged hellscape.

That white-headed eagle isn't any kind of Scottish eagle - it's an American Bald Eagle. And that's not the Flying Scotman, which had green livery, along with three main wheels on each side. I'll leave it to the #train nerds to identify it, but it looks a bit like a US engine.
Slop indeed...

Been binge-rewatching The Expanse for the last week, as a welcome escape from The Madness of King Don coverage that's become almost inescapable.
The series is years old, but some of the parallels with contemporary world events is striking. Like this: youtu.be/KTOuc8KhtAA?...
