Pretty crazy how important the blockade of a trade route is right now

A tweet pasted over a photo of Colm Meaney reads: The hill I will die on is that it's not a "big Irish head on him" because it is large. The big refers to the amount of Irishness broadcast by the head, not the circumference nor volume of the head in question.
Joe dot ie are sharing my old tweet again but don't I notice that that while that is my twitter @, the profile photo is the one from here and only from January, so doesn't appear next to the original tweet

Ah now, I'd say that it's a poioumenon like Sk8r Boi or the film Elf.
Look, I loved Larry Gogan too, but even he can't take credit for the sharp rise in tiktoks, memes and streamings that the song has enjoyed in the past decade or so.
Oh my god this movie was specifically made in a lab just for me.
The Monster Mash has grown in popularity as a Halloween standard for three reasons:
1. That Simpsons gag;
2. Michael Jackson getting cancelled, and
3. Seasonal Internet humour built on parsing its lyrics.
"Silver Springs"/"Bless The Telephone" it ain't.
Word on the street is that The Bride! has an indie cover of the Monster Mash on its soundtrack (possibly over the end credits).
I think it's funny that 1964 had hits like "I Get Around" by the Beach Boys and "Baby Love" by the Supremes but 62 years later this novelty song casts the longest shadow.
Suddenly everything makes sense
"Okay we've tried to prove Gerry Adams was in the IRA dozens of times and we just can't quite nail him down"
"Have you considered pointing out that he was wearing a beret"
What is happening
Better check under your car before you drive anywhere, Ró.
Just spotted a man, about sixty, wearing a charcoal beret and carrying it off surprisingly well.
Remember those Chuck Norris jokes? Well my phone algorithms have had the audacity to suggest I might be old enough to enjoy a few of them this morning.
Screenshot of an insane Telegraph article from 2017 claiming that Jeremy Corbyn wearing a tie was evidence of his power madness and authoritarian ambitions
Same energy
Humming all morning:
🎶 He wore a RAspberry beret 🎶
Can’t your man just go through a New Wave cinema phase without being judged for it?
Thank you for reminding me of thread including the guy who turned up to work in a suit on his first day and his new colleagues gave him money in a “congrats on your communion” card.
Gerry Adams would look very smart in a beret, in fairness. Like a watercolourist.
The Onion headline "Timothee Chalamet Under Fire for Dismissive Comments About Traditional Japanese Puppet Theater Form 'Bunraku'" was liked by Bernie Sanders.
Bernie... thank you
I can't believe this whole time Emily in Paris was short for Emily in Paramilitaries
Props to anyone who tries to be stylish in Ireland once I wore a beret to a funeral and some guy shouted "Alright Super Ra-io"
Tell me your country and I will tell you my impression of it based entirely on silent films.

One day the NYT's editors will read these stories again and be ashamed of themselves. Mamdani called the attack "heinous," "criminal," "reprehensible," "terrorism," and "the antithesis of who we are." The insinuation that he's conflicted about this is disgraceful. www.nytimes.com/2026/03/09/n...
This is exactly why he needs to be taken down a peg.
Gonna become a Valencia fan solely because of the bat
"Unbelievable belief"
The guy's shortcomings are well known but superficiality is one of a number of levels which a piece of filmed entertainment can delight audiences with. And I don't think Love Story can be improved upon on that superficial level.
A colleague described Ryan Murphy as "deeply shallow" and I'm not sure if they're unintentionally clever, unintentionally stupid, or Bono.
