This would be laughable if it wasn't so serious: yet again, the Tories are claiming that we can get "all our oil and gas" from the North Sea and that we should be doing even more to support the industry to extract.

There are several reasons why we should treat this with maximum scepticism:

Tell the UK: No new oil and gas The UK government has paused making decisions on new oil and gas in the North Sea while it examines how to regulate new drilling. And it’s asking the public for our views.

The world has already discovered more coal, oil and gas than it is safe to burn. There's an ongoing consultation that is our chance to tell our government to stop new North Sea oil & gas, and fund a just transition to clean energy. act.globaljustice.org.uk/node/4262?ut...
