I feel thereβs whole a new Morrissey album in there with titles such as
-(Why did you leave me in a) Catatonic State
-Spain is pain
-Wonβt anybody think about the singer
-No refund for the wicked
-Unbearably Iberian

The problem that Substack is addressing however is the issue of reach. How do our European thinkers and writers find an audience?
We don't really need a European newsletter curation platform but a way of connecting interesting voices to audiences.
We've had (self-hosted) blogs and newsletters for decades. Companies like Substack therefore don't solve the problem of finding a home for thinkers and writers. They just insert themselves as a middle man so they can make a buck. Which is fair but this also seems to involve not upsetting the racists
The two biggest European search engines want to strengthen Europeβs digital sovereignty and reduce dependence on foreign technology.
Fair enough. Impressed by kSuite here
A photo of someone holding up their phone in the subway with the radiohead album 'the bends' playing. In the background is a person asleep whose face looks eerily like the face on the cover of the album, with their head back and his mouth open.

Eurosky is heating up.
Also: it feels like a very European thing to just occasionally add a little collective break to the whole always-on thing ππͺπΊ
Thanks! I'll give it a read (and just followed it on @semble.so )
I agree. The only frustrating bit is that I feel the potential is a lot bigger than what is there right. I mean: it's AI that is integrated in kSuite therefore it should be able to create documents, folders etc...
Whenever I want to do something like that I am constantly linked to Google products
I noticed some things didn't run as smoothly as one would expect. Had to press 'save' a couple of times etc... But I've got mine working and I like the idea of having a very flexible 'what i'm working on'-link
haha, yes. Thanks for introducing me!
Thank you! For now I've deleted the Bluesky app off my phone because it is so distracting. So Skeets is not for me right now. But good to know!
Not sure I've already wrapped my head around whatever @semble.so is but it looks very interesting. Will investigate further.
Thanks @psingletary.com for the suggestion!
Wow, thanks. Definitely going to dive in to that one soon.
(a.k.a. 'you had me at 'overwhelmed')
I've also set up an @openmeet.net account because this is something I might also need in the future.
I also set up a @woosh.link page, which is similar to linktree. This is actually something I think I'll be using.
So far I've set up a @pckt.blog account but I am already blogging on my own website (www.kenveerman.com/blog) so no real plans here for now.
But it looks amazing!
As a newbie to the whole AT thing this video inspired me to try out other decentralised apps (other than @bsky.app , that is) using the same @eurosky.social login.
Very cool!

Thanks! It is set up on WordPress but I had someone do it for me as I am a total non-techy.
I'll have him look into it.
One of the main challenges of Atmosphere for now is that it is prohibitively difficult for people who don't come from a tech background. Interesting challenge though
Happy user of Mistral's Le Chat as a AI chatbot but still missing a couple of pro-EU fixes.
- ability to render files as .odt instead of .doc so it works with @libreoffice.bsky.social
- connectors with non-Microsoft or Google drives: why not have @infomaniak.bsky.social or @proton.me connectors?
Fascinating. Way too new to the Atmosphere and not tech-savvy enough to set this up for my own blog just now but following!
Looks like something I need to look into. Thanks for sharing
The EUβs Open Source Software Strategy calls for reducing dependency on proprietary technologies. But for feedback on the Cyber Resilience Act, they're asking for feedback in .xlsx format! This is obviously not ideal βΒ so please sign our open letter: blog.documentfoundation.org/blog/2026/03...
Adieu Bluesky. I moved to @eurosky.social . The migration was a lot simpler than I thought.
First time ever having my socials hosted on European soil.
Now all I have to do is provide the interesting content. π¬ πͺπΊ
Agree. But perhaps this is less a Europe problem than a press problem? The current need to fit everything into the narrow requirements of clickbait news favours the American drama over in-depth European policy.
(One could even argue the American drama is mostly designed to fit the clickbait)
Itβs the only way to avoid Live, Love, Laugh, Litter
The Romanian and Belgian flag are so similar this Belgian always has to do a double take.
