is allegedly a gracefully ageing rocker whose life was demolished in a freak meditation accident back when he was a computer scientist but also very definitely a singer-songwriter and t'ai-chi enthusiast based in Glastonbury, UK duncanbatey.bandcamp.com

No. I remember in my teens, around the time of Raymond Briggs' When The Wind Blows and Pink Floyd's The Final Cut, feeling rather doom laden about the whole situation, but this seems like exactly the kind of thing everyone was on the whole successfully trying to avoid back then.

Although granted, the current situation does seem particularly mad, possibly madder than I can remember.

I drew the cover for a new edition of lost sci-fi classic 'Woman Alive' by Susan Ertz. It is out now from @manderleypress.bsky.social

My memory of moving frequently was that the stereo was always the last thing to be packed and the first thing to be unpacked - I mean, otherwise it would mean packing and unpacking without music. Inconceivable. And of course placement of the hi-fi is paramount - all else is arranged around it. Obvs.

Via @sassytealady.bsky.social a thread of joy celebrating the amazing Tim Curry. He would have been so damn creepy as Lector.

So the electrician seemed to have turned up early. I still in bed. Turned out my bedside clock was 2 hours behind - I *had* woken earlier at what I'd thought was 5am, briefly wondered at how light it was so early before turning over and going back to sleep. Hopefully the day can only get better.

Definitely a #5. Electrician turned up early, or so I thought - I was still in bed. Turned out my bedside clock was 2 hours behind. I had woken earlier at what I'd thought was 5am and briefly wondered at how light it was so early before turning over and going back to sleep... Oops.

Ah. It's Superbug o'clock. YES. This is a trans-national level problem. It's not something the free market will fix. Government needs to do its bloody job and always back-burners it. Get your finger out, this one isn't optional!

Sadly, this is not an unfamiliar experience for me with rail travel, although not that frequent a one, fortunately. So annoying though.

Every time I go to a show, especially a place like Emerald City where the fans were INCREDIBLY kind and welcoming, I'm reminded that online behaviors and real life behaviors are two different things and I need to stay offline and meet people face to face more often.
