It would have to depend on the context. For more horror-based concepts, it would have to be skeletal aspects first then as one of the later additions.
For a more silly cartoonish transformation, different body parts going at different times as an all-in-one (i.e., lion w/ trunk) is a fun concept.
I've recently been on a Friendship is Magic binge. Series 2 and 4 are still my favourite go-to 'littlemode' shows, and it's always fun watching them with a younger perspective.

I hope your ploy succeeds in making these players' efforts less profitable than it might otherwise be. I absolutely applaud any attempts to mess with people who try to engineer things to this degree - after all, it's only virtual currency, and all their efforts will be for naught in the end anyway.
Not that I never undercut myself - it's the nature of the beast, after all - but I always made a point of undercutting by a considerable margin (e.g., if an item was listed for 250,000 credits, I might list it at 235,000 - 240,000 credits depending on the item).
May as well do it properly!
If ever I came across someone doing that with an item I wanted, I would buy from the player they undercut (and again if that player in turn had done the exact same trick with the player before them, and so on unless it was an unreasonable price), just to avoid rewarding such scummy behaviour.
The whole undercutting tendency in MMOs always fascinates and frustrates me. In SWTOR, I remember coming across various items that were listed on the market for a whole 1 credit less than the next cheapest version of said item, clearly being done just so they were the first person listed.
