“There are no merits” is amazing.
“There are no merits” is amazing.
"It is just objectively true that the teachings of Jesus are diametrically opposed to the bulk of the Christian nationalist project."
Luttig: It doesn’t matter what the Supreme Court does from this point forward. For two years, the Supreme Court has authorized the absolute lawlessness and unconstitutional activity of this president.
On Tuesday in Minnesota, a lawyer made headlines — including at Law Dork — for her shocking statement in court representing that government that the “system sucks.” On Wednesday, the transcript made clear that it wasn’t just Julie Le — an inexperienced litigator who was on a detail from her job at the Department of Homeland Security to help with the increased caseload resulting from Operation Metro Surge — who said a lot that matters on Tuesday. It is an unfathomable exercise to read lawyers and a federal judge discussing at length the ways in which the rule of law is slipping through our nation’s fingers, but it is an absolutely necessary document to read for anyone who wants to protect the rule of law — and America.
I don't know when I last read something like the transcript out of Minnesota, so I spent the evening putting this together.

I think one thing people outside Minnesota don't understand is that after Good and Pretti were killed by feds while observing, the most normal people you could imagine have made peace with the fact that they could be next, and they are still out there because they say it's the right thing to do.
That's remarkable stuff. And really illustrates why the Millers of the world want there to be as little process as possible. Because process will stop their goals.
Going directly against the boss—I guess some people still care about not perjuring themselves
Jeffrey Epstein: "I have met some very bad people. None as bad as Trump. Not one decent cell in his body."
Trump decreed that the lawmakers’ warning about illegal orders was “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” That’s a message worthy of the ayatollah. Speaking of the ayatollah...
This is the seat Nancy Mace is vacating lol
FFS, that didn't take long.
(To be clear, I'm not blaming @orinkerr.bsky.social, who cited and discussed the same two SCOTUS cases I did in reference to the ICE memo)

not surprising and yet still jarring to read ex-FBI agents describing how Kash Patel and Bongino reacted to Charlie Kirk's murder while running the agency. truly the content creator administration/podcast govt www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
An FBI agent conducted an initial review of the Renee Good killing and determined sufficient grounds existed to open a civil rights probe into the actions of the ICE officer who shot her. Justice Department says no inquiry is warranted. @perrystein.bsky.social www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...
"A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people."

“It may well be that we will have to repent in this generation. Not merely for the vitriolic words and the violent actions of the bad people, but for the appalling silence and indifference of the good people” - Martin Luther King.
Martin Luther King Jr. understood better than almost anyone that racial justice and economic justice are inextricably intertwined. Watch his powerful call to end poverty from his final Sunday Sermon.
A terrible day.
The U.S. government vs. the free world.
Would be useful for stories like this to point out, among her political ties, that her husband is the *GOP Senator from Pennsylvania.* (Beat Bob Casey by 0.2% in 2024.)
Not even mentioned in CNBC dispatch.
"After Trump’s first year, and especially after the accelerationist authoritarianism of the last ten days, Democrats have to embrace resistance without embarrassment. There are many fronts on which the Democratic party in Congress can fight..."

It's no longer left versus right or even Democrat versus Republican.
It’s now democracy versus oligarchy. Freedom versus dictatorship. Right versus wrong.
People are awakening to this new reality — and they're speaking up.
The sleeping giant of America is roaring.
We have rights too. The Secretary of Defense cannot arbitrarily punish a member of the military, current or retired, because his feelings got hurt. If what he did is provably wrong that it can be punished then follow the UCMJ and administrative regulations. He didn't because he can't. Good on Kelly
Note, again, ICE is targeting WOMEN. These men illegally burst into her home because they don't think a woman--especially one with children--will fight back.
These men are predators, just like Epstein & Trump. They see women, especially with children, as vulnerable prey & selectively target them.

/3 That process will make it easier for this to happen again. So: what to do? Someone who promoted and both-sidesed Nazis in 1946 would face economic and social annihilation outside of extremists circles. How can we inflict that annihilation on the vapid media of now?
/2 This will be grotesque. Edward R. Murrow didn’t have a radio show in 1946 where Eisenhower debated Göring about whether the Nazis had some good points. Today’s media would absolutely do that. Today’s media will platform people defending and rewriting Good’s murder for years.
When Trump’s dead, and if we emerge from whatever white nationalist regime follows him and return to some normality, the media and commentariat are going to do everything in their power to normalize what happened and make it into simple policy differences suitable for “my two guests are.”
