The BBC is apologising for its Panorama edit. It shouldnβt. First, the narrative is true: Donald Trump *did* incite the Capitol riot. Second, the apology wonβt appease those attacking it. So why not at least stand for something?
Wrote this on it earlier this week:

We should defend the values and effort at accuracy of the BBC in a Trumpian world of wilful inaccuracy and hypocrisy, but this seems on the face of it to be an excessive response to a politically motivated attack
This is the most abysmal, pathetic thing. The BBC head resigning because the corporation is not supine *enough* to the far-right.
Out now: key data from the third wave of the Worlds of Journalism Study. 75 countries, >32,350 journalists, >300 researchers, seven years of successful collaboration. Many thanks to all who contributed to this project!

Please note the entire answer. It is not too late. But it will be.
Scoop: The Trump admin's videos boasting triumphs on immigration have used misleading footage from months ago or thousands of miles away
When we showed them the errors, DHS said they make a lot of videos and the White House said it'll keep making "banger memes"

Have you watched our shocking new investigative documentary 'Gaza: Doctors Under Attack'? The film the BBC refused to air? Gary Lineker has said the BBC should hang its head in shame.
