Thanks for chiming in. It’s not a journal it’s an edited volume in an established series from a well-known academic publisher. What concerns me is not just the lack of communication with authors but especially with the editors. They are not getting any feedback on revisions or publication delays.

He thinks it might go to print without even second proofs. I have so much anxiety not knowing if even the first proof corrections are being made. I hope the publication date will be pushed back again, so frustrating the respected academic press had been incommunicado even with the editors.

How would you handle this situation? I have my first article coming out soon (Dec/Jan) in academic volume, a very detailed and long paper, I put so much work into it, sent the first proofs corrections in July, no acknowledgment from publisher, saw my editor at #sblaar25, he’s had no response either.

I tried that last year but not being an extrovert, I found it really hard to go up to anyone random and opening conversation out of the blue, and most people were already talking with each other. After standing around for a half hour, I left.

Am flying home from a fun #aarsbl25. It is always wonderful to catch up with friends and take part in the discussions. Eclectic selection of sessions I attended: Book of Daniel, Papyrology, Pseudepigrapha, Aramaic Studies, Pauline Epistles, Trauma Section, NT Intertextuality, Corpus Hellenisticum NT

About to attend my first session at #asor25 and then looking forward to #aarsbl25. Sadly I will have to miss all the linguistic presentations on the final day to attend other sessions. #overload

My husband met her and Budgie at a Creatures meet and greet in Australia. I was so jealous! But he got me an autographed CD at least.

I think its lexical cognacy, as they said they were taking a similar approach as Heggarty for PIE.

Their phylogeny had Akkadian be the first to split off from Proto-Semitic. What was really surprising is that it did not lump Aram. with Heb. and Phoen. Their model preferred having Ug. split off first, then Heb. and Phoen., and then you get threefold branching with Aram., Arab., & S. Arab. + Eth.

Went to an interesting talk this morning at ICHL on a new phylogenetic analysis of the Semitic language family with some surprising results. Best fit with the model (calibrated with known dates for attested varieties) is 3430-2380 BCE for Proto-Semitic. A bit later than I would have expected.

I always interpreted the phrase as having a singular abstract noun possessor, like Fisherman's Wharf or potter's field.

In my upcoming LSTS chapter on apocryphal Ezekiel, the inverse nearby listing on Logeion is what helped me figure out the identity of the incompletely preserved verb -υμαι in a papyrus fragment (I'm suggesting πυρο]ῦμαι in place of the problematic διαλέλ]υμαι in the editio princeps and on TLG).

Taylor Fritz today at #wimbledon. I caught the exact moment his racket made contact with the ball, distorting the strings and flattening the ball.

Also I was staying at a hotel in Paris in 2022 when Coco Gauff was in the finals at the French Open. She was staying at the same hotel & the night before the big match her coach was in the lobby with Coco with a stack of pizzas and I got into the elevator & the coach said she'll get in the next one.

I was in an airport lounge at LAX when right past me walks Patrick Carney from the Black Keys. I was like, that has to be him, so I checked Twitter and found a post like 20 minutes earlier that he tweeted he was landing in LAX.

The main issue with the dating is that they use a generalized calibration curve built from data from Europe and NA and it needs to be offset for local 14C fluctuations. It is well known that raw C14 dates in the Near East are about 20 years too early; this was recently tested with dendrochronology.

Very interesting topic, I will have to read your paper. :) I've always thought of the Ignatian corpus as reminiscent of the supplementary thesis and Tatian as reminiscent of the documentary hypothesis in terms of composition and redaction in the Torah.
