A 7- goose day today. Started with Tundra Bean, Barnacle, Greylag and Canada at Dryslwyn, then White-fronted and Pink-footed at Penclawdd and rounded of with Brent at Crofty. Not too shabby
Thanks Adam.
What was your view point for the geese at Penclawdd Adam?

A six goose day today, all in the Dryslwyn area, Tundra Bean (lifer), Pink-footed, Barnacle, Greylag, White-fronted and Canada.
So glad you managed to get a photo of it Adam. My brother and I saw it on Tuesday morning, posted on Carms rare birds. It was in the main river chanel, but the river was running so swiftly I didn't manage a photo for a record shot.
Poor thing. Have you ever seen it come out of the water? I wonder what happens if it tries to walk on land.
Wow, stunning place, stunning bird. Nice one Neil!
I remember Mike as he was in the 1979 photo when I was studying zoology in Lonodon and spent a couple of amazing weeks on Skomer as a voluntary warden. A wonderful experience.
Cracking photo Mike!
Bravo Annieπ
Thanks Barry. Glad others have now seen it as well. Castell Ddu is a good birding locality.
Thanks Adam. Just been down there again this morning. The light was perfect. Certainly best in the morning.
Approach slowly, at high water the birds are very close, just the other side of the trees.
Thanks Mike. Access is easy, just head down Castell Ddu Road and when you get to the bridge, just park on the left by the gate, hop over the style and walk up toward the river - public footpath.

Spotted Redshank
The Peregrine that frightened everybody away.
A very good morning's birding at Castell Ddu, below the M4 bridge at Pontardulais, just after high tide. Lesser Yellowlegs, Spotted Redshank, Ruff and a juvenile Peregrine that came along and spoilt the party.
Looks good for Lesser Emperor.
Managed to get in on the action at Aberavon this afternoon, 6 Sabine's Gull and 3 Grey Phalarope. Wonderful views.
Unfortunately, I don't. I've seen them often at Kenfig and Pembrey, but a car would be needed for these I guess.
No Dark Greens?
I thought it was spume not sputum, but I guess they look somewhat similar π€£

One of several Couded Yellows seen at West Williamston NR this morning. Sadly no Brown Hairstreaks.
