Striped, cross eyed, Siamese tabby cat with a pink nose and blue eyes is in a bag.
It’s already #Caturday somewhere. Presenting: Hugo in a bag, cross eyed.

Imagine being so flexible that lying in a perfect horseshoe shape is comfortable. #caturday
Are we headed for “President Vance”? How will that be different / the same?
I don’t entirely agree with “unpredictable” and “impossible to accurately accommodate”. We proactively request accommodations upfront to avoid future problems. The challenge is when other people decide that we don’t really NEED everything we requested.
Yes. Thank you. That is exactly what I’m saying. I added more detail/examples in subsequent comments.
That doesn’t mean I am ok with strong smells and sensitive only to loud noise. It could mean that the sensory load of masking/tolerating strong smells yesterday has “burned out” my ability to cope with sensory issues today.
For example: yesterday, I seemed to handle the sensory overstimulation of strong smells just fine, but today, I experienced one loud noise and I was “done” to the extent of a shutdown (internalized) or meltdown (externalized).
I think about this often as well: is there a world where I could exist and not feel limited by my disability (ASD)? Your analogy of glasses/no glasses is a binary example of disability/accommodation and the spectrum of autism, even for an individual is much more complex:
Hmmm… doesn’t Nigeria have oil?

Blue eyed tabby cat is wearing a red, protective onesie provided by his veterinarian.
Hugo in a red onesie - just in time for Christmas. Healing is non-linear. We’re getting there. At least he’s out of the cone!
A tabby cat with blue eyes is wearing a plastic collar around his neck because he recently had surgery. He is sitting on a hand-made sweater that I am in the process of crocheting.
Gratitude #caturday week 2: Hugo is starting to feel much better and is well enough to “help” me with my crocheting today. Hopefully only 2 more days in the cone!
Brass cobblestones from the sidewalk of the former Jewish district of Berlin, which indicate where Jewish people lived before they were deported to Auschwitz.
Deportation is a tried and true way of killing people. These are cobblestones from Rosenthaler Strasse in Berlin where an elderly couple, Gottfried and Lotti Hollander lived, before they were deported in 1943 and died at Auschwitz.
These lawmakers are trying to protect individuals who might think they are “just following orders” without realizing it is not a valid defence against committing crimes. Ref: the Nuremberg Trials.
A tabby cat with beautiful blue eyes is shown in protective collar, sitting on his owners lap.
Gratitude #caturday. Over the past week, Hugo has spent more time at veterinary emergency than at home. He had a urinary blockage and surgery to resolve it and save his life.
He’s back home and happily purring on my lap. I’m grateful today that I was able to provide help for my Hugo.
…which also leads to negative social consequences. People will avoid mentioning the topic again or even avoid the autistic person altogether.
Unless… the information we’re receiving aligns with a special interests. Then it becomes a one-sided conversation (us to them) with encyclopedic detail!
It’s #caturday and I can’t move because I’m covered in cats
Oh my goodness! Thank you! This “new to me” MCM solid red oak sofa and 2 chairs was made by the gentleman’s grandfather who sold it to me for $500. The green wool velvet cushions are original. I stripped and refinished it with a walnut stain and satin polyurethane.
#caturday Sibling cats are so awesome!
In other words, malignant kingship:
Plenary means full, complete, or absolute. It describes authority, power, or sessions that are unqualified or unrestricted in scope.
Sometimes “low support needs” is actually “high masking”, until burnout occurs. This applies especially to late diagnosed autistic people, who mask autism for decades until it all falls apart.
It’s not #tylenol
If autism were preventable, someone really smart would have figured that out by now. Blaming a mother, pre- or postnatally, for a child’s genetics, disability or birth injury is misogynistic. They will start with autism but it won’t end there.
The arrows should be drawn with sharpies.
Internalized autism is also more common among female-presenting autists, whose “special interests” are typically more socially expected/acceptable for girls and women.
Also known as “high-masking” autism and under the ableist labels, “low support needs” or “high functioning”. But really, this just means that I hold it all together until I am home or until I am in a safe environment where I can fall apart (have a shutdown), sometimes for days.
Two spotted and striped cats, obviously related, lie on a green velvet chair, facing away from the camera so that all you see are their backs and their ears.
One more, just in time for #caturday. My two beans, Siamese cross. The upper one, Hugo, has the blue eyes and muted colouring. The lower one, Esmeralda, looks like a regular tabby but has the Siamese voice and vocabulary.
Two very small fluffy striped kittens are in a small white box.
These are the kittens I searched for and found online for my sister to adopt. They are Maine Coone crossed with domestic cat. Linus and Lucy are celebrating their first #Caturday in their new home - in a box!

Also to point out, the H1B visa is commonly a stepping stone to a Green card application. So this will likely impact the path to US citizenship for many people.
