Speaking as a lower middle class graduate with an office job and a mortgage, born in the late seventies, I would say: this is half my social circle and most of the people I worked with for years. How in the name of Christ did nobody in politics or media see this coming?

I remember being told of examples of Whedon’s supposed examples of empowerment with his women characters and looking at those examples from a cishet male POV and thinking “no, that’s not what he’s *really* doing. He largely just finds it hot”.

I like Tati’s stuff a lot but his pacing was awful - his films often feel a lot longer than they actually are. Trafic is the worst for this, however PlayTime is quite cold and mechanical by design which doesn’t help. It’s worth sticking with, but watching it in chunks is also the best way.
