Versions of me exist in the folklore of most of the world's cultures, leading some to suggest that I am the ur model for the 'Unvarnished and Exuberant Weirdo' figure in the monomyth. Psychic robots beware, my defenses are potent. He/him.

“People: this problem is like entitilitus!”

“You mean it puts us in an awkward position, Boss?”

The real money-maker isekai is “I am older than 35 and everyone gets enjoys—and appreciates—my references.”

Brown definitely did a little extra soccer exaggeration going down from Castle riding his hip with his trail hand. He got a little rope from the ref on yelling but got t’d when he refused to stop and the second when he stormed towards an official. Dumb sequence from him.

That Newcastle goal against Barca must have resulted in some amazing pictures between the awkward strike and the gormless expression on the keeper as the ball hit him in the chest and bounced in.

Just catching up to Collision now but great gear on Private Party for their $400k garnering victory.

Oil price jumps are bad, pretty much across the board, but if more desalination plants get hit then the risks are more terrible than I would like to give name. Turn large swaths of a region in which 410 million+ human beings currently live inhabitable.

It also effectively blocks me from any federal employment as the waivers are considerably more difficult to receive even for USPS jobs. Anyway, if they ordered a draft it would be good pretext to send me to the camps is what I am saying, in brief.

This violates the Selective Service Act I came to find when it turned out that I needed waivers from unis in order to receive loans for grad school. A call to the SS in an early effort to address it subjected me to a tongue lashing from an angry older man, likely a vet, for breaking the law.

The tax return (I was having taxes withdrawn and was screwing myself out of a return, not the gov’t of revenue) is important because that is another place where men under the age of 25 can register for the draft. Out of ignorance and then confused panic, I didn’t file til I was 26.

So as a dual citizen American birth reported abroad who didn’t immigrate into the States til my twenties, I didn’t know two very important things that folks down here know: male Americans aren’t automatically registered for the draft and there was no minimum income for filing a tax return.

I literally went to Owen Hart’s funeral, part of the crowd that surrounded the funeral home in Calgary. Blew off class and drove into town with some others. Maybe the first time I had to get parking downtown? Long time ago, details turn to fiction if screws of memory tighten too much.

My goodness I am glad that I abused the mutual understanding that these post paginations will not lead one into cul de sacs of very dumb silliness. Those two trying to figure out how to properly align the swinging dildo through the seat while talking about Morocco really sings to me as an image tho.

Originally, in the scene after JLo and him walk into the hotel room and start getting undressed instead of cutting away all classy they meticulously build the same fuck-gizmo together and talk about the places they wish they could travel to. Great writing, would have added 3 hours to the film. 2/2

A lot of people don’t know that the inspiration for George Clooney’s sex-contraption from Burn After Reading came from a scripted but not filmed bit from Soderbergh’s Out of Sight. 1/2

In exciting news from my home dimension, Will Smith has been cast in the Wallace Shawn role and will be doing his own unique interpretation of Mark Knoffler/Willy Deville’s ineffable romantic mainstay closing credits song, “Storybook Love”! Can’t wait!

I mean, it is an obvious observation made many times already, but how would a takeover of the US government by the Russian mob (specifically crafted by Semion Mogilevich, the Russian boss of bosses who knew Putin in the 90s and was an early buyer into Trump Towers) differ from the present sitch?

Former OK State Superintendent Ryan Walters is totally going to run for Markwayne’s seat and it is going to be as funny as it could be given that he still might have a chance to win.

Though this photo of Yao Ming and assorted other delegates to the National People’s Congress of China dates from last year, he stares through wearied eyes above and over the camera with the urgency of today. With a slightly unfamiliar roundness to his face (not particularly evident under his dark), there is an air of modern-day Brendan Fraser to him. Both have seen and lived through greatness and absurdity coupled tightly.

I bear witness to haggard, middle-aged Yao Ming. (From here, photo credits in alt text: www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...)

I have a marginally credible claim to have brought the phrase "Republican death cult" into modern parlance via a comment board post about the financial crisis in 2008 that got linked to by a major blog at the time (by a guest editor).

A squirrel digging into the snow facing away from the camera, glancing back out of the side of one eye with an arresting expression that says, "I know you're looking at my squirrel butt and I like it." Whatever he is digging and eating is suspiciously piss-coloured because squirrels are rodents and are at least a little disgusting.

A squirrel, gray with a red back, hood, and snout, sitting in the snow facing to the right. Its expression isn't exactly grim but serious, a creature at work and observing but not relating to the camera. Since it is cold it is very fuzzy and chubby.

Can you imagine how ludicrously calamitous things would be if the US didn’t have clear, specific, and realistic plans on securing Iran’s enriched uranium and preventing civilian casualties? That would be such a grimly absurd world!

Wemby drawing two fouls on Drummond in three seconds, forcing him out in the first two minutes on a night when Embiid is out, must have been infuriating to Sixers fans. Such a Pop player.

Huh, Iran is 17th among countries in both size and population. It is about three times larger in land area than Afghanistan and four than Iraq, with a population about equal to those two combined.

i cannot characterize the strikes as anything but revealing an exterminationist mindset. the goal is not an iran that can "exist as a reasonable partner within the international system". the goal is to make iran cease to exist and to condemn the region permanently to poverty, violence, and ruin.
