Trump and the conservative media ecosystem have done a ton of work to recast the Biden years as a Hoover/Carter disaster that Trump rescued us from. I do think that gets harder every month

$1 billion could give 120,000 people free tuition for a two-year Associate’s Degree, or it could provide free child care for a year for $71,000 kids. That’s the cost of this war every single day.

So.
A globally disruptive, economically unsound, and whim-driven tariff policy turns out to be unconstitutional.
Huh.

Letting Republicans off the hook without legal consequences for their crimes isn’t “bringing people together,” it’s encouraging them to keep committing crimes. After January 6th, there should be no more confusion about this.

Can someone remind me who is the majority party? WaPo seems to need help here.
I thought it was the GOP, who despite what the WaPo wants you to think, actually have some agency. Lots, really, tho you’d never get that idea from the media.

Your Ring camera can scam passing dogs and compare them to databases of missing dogs and that’s heartwarming and there are absolutely no sinister implications that’s why the guy in the button-down and Dockers is soothing

Chasing the clicks should not be the primary guide for any newsroom, let alone a leading national newspaper.

I extensively covered the reassertion of state power over the Russian media in late 1990s/early 2000s.
A crucial step was oligarchs buying or gaining control over many influential media outlets. Those media owners/shareholders changed editorial policy, fired people, etc to curry favor with Kremlin.

This is the sort of statement that was expected from every university president and law firm partner over the last year. That those statements weren’t made played a huge part in where we are now and people will remember.

COMMENTARY: It seems an increasing number of Americans, including elected leaders and journalists, are afraid to tell the truth about what happened on January 6. That's dangerous.

This is the kind of thing that the Founders explicitly designed our constitution to prevent; a president who has seized wealth for his own benefit without any intervention from Congress, which in our system is supposed to be the holder of the power of the purse.

There is a tremendous opportunity for a brand new generation of media outlets to rise up right now because many news outlets that spent decades painstakingly building their credibility are seeing it torched by bootlickers with incredible speed.

@PeteHegseth on X: Let’s make one thing crystal clear:
Admiral Mitch Bradley is an American hero, a true professional, and has my 100% support. I stand by him and the combat decisions he has made — on the September 2 mission and all others since.
America is fortunate to have such men protecting us. When this @DeptofWar says we have the back of our warriors — we mean it.

Hegseth is very transparently blaming a Navy admiral for his own decision. Let this be a lesson for every other military officer: The Trump administration will issue unlawful orders, then blame you for following them.
