One of the most eye opening things in my life has been realizing that the depth of the parenting experience - and the parent-child relationship - comes from an accumulation of such mundane yet cherished moments.

I'm a little late for Bandcamp Friday but consider buying this gorgeous vinyl set from the inimitable @neutron.bsky.social featuring photography by my sweetie @edrabbit.bsky.social !
Not AI?
Disgusting. I just read the article and they're claiming they only take a "meager" 5% take rate of ticket prices... does that mean they take 5% from the artists on top of the 15% or whatever service charge they take from the customers?!
I recently had to sell some tickets using Ticketmaster and they had the gall to charge me 15% for the pleasure using their platform, and then turned around and charged the buyer ANOTHER 15%! And this is after I already had paid them their ludicrous service fees when I bought the tickets. A cancer!
Weird: The Al Yankovic Story
This is so damn cool!!! 🤩 Very well explained, Liana. I'm excited to see what the future holds. Individualized cancer vaccines sound like a dream come true!
I saw a banana peel on the sidewalk today and almost stepped on it in solidarity.
Was it just LLMs that did that though? I remember there being a lot of cringey emoji-heavy slack announcements from HR etc years before ChatGPT was a thing. I remember UI designers called it out as being problematic from an accessibility standpoint. Makes screen reader output incomprehensible.
I still love Flickr so much. Nothing has come close to it in terms of organization and presentation - both for photographers and for viewers!
Thank you!!
How many times did the hold message cheerfully "remind" you that you can do things "faster" on the website? 😭
Congratulations!
Seriously?? That's amazing!!
Congratulations!!!!
Hyperloop! 🙄
Can confirm, corp expectation for devs working has been creeping earlier and earlier since wfh in 2020. Used to be first meeting before 10am was verboten, now first meeting at 9 or even 8:30 is normal.
Interesting. There are two bakers, ABC and Little Brownie Bakers (LBB). The one that GS NorCal switched to, which you don't like, is ABC. I'd have thought the shipped cookies would come direct from the bakeries, but maybe there is a more central distribution hub...?
Our council made that decision - GS NorCal. I would start by emailing info@gsnorcal.org and asking to be connected to the appropriate person.
We know. It sucks. We had no control over the decision 😭 and yes, ABC cookies have more plastic packaging, and both bakeries use palm oil, and the cookies can be considered "highly processed". We get to hear it at every booth from enraged adults who want to take out their anger at corporate on kids.
Wouldn't it be a STEK since they're in NZ? 😆
I don't know how kombucha works exactly but I'd never heard of it related to flax. When I was cooking for vegans a lot I used the flax "egg" substitute quite a bit. It's pretty neat. Might be worth giving it a shot since you have lots!
That all makes sense! I agree that dried fruit or coconut bits sound like an improvement.
Oh wait, are you talking about flapjacks more like a granola bar? I googled it and that sounds more tasty than I was thinking. (I'm GF and was low carb for a while so I ended up eating a lot of unappetizing almond flour pancake type things.)
Almond butter flapjacks sounds like some keto / GF thing I would have to eat begrudgingly 😆 With vegan but not GF or keto, pancakes I'd use regular ap flour or whole wheat (whatever you have) and maybe applesauce or flax seed for eggs (google the flax eggs thing).
This won't help your bones reconstitute: I just realized today that Badger Badger is 23 years old.
Big hugs. That's so hard
I really enjoy the miniature mics that some people have - cracks me up every time.
It's such a bummer since they're a very safe - and ubiquitous - brand for us GF folks!
I have that problem too. I call them sticky hickies.
