Northern Californiaβs first condor egg in 100 years reported in redwood tree
Who COULDNβT use some good news? β Scientists with the Yurok Tribe say that two of dozens of condors released to the wild in Humboldt County since 2022, to reestablish the endangered birds, have paired up, built a nest in a redwood tree and appear to be tending to an egg.β

Now that I finished that pinecone project, it's time to move on to something considerably bigger but I'm hoping it will take less than 3 years.... Tarot cards! This type of art I hesitate to post on Instagram -- this is a BlueSky exclusive β¨ lol
Your twice yearly reminder that this is actually an artist account π I finally finished stippling this pinecone after 3 years!! #stipple #nature #art #micronpens
Goddamn it.
well i clicked this thinking there's no way I'll cry at an actor's acceptance award and then the Indiana Jones music kicked in and i thought about my dad and started crying. Harrison's speech kept me crying. What a great guy. What a career.

Sorry I'm not more open-minded about LLMs, it's just some fucking maniacs shoveled out a bunch of useless bloatware featuring that technology, did not give me any chance to opt out, reorganized the entire economy around it, zeroed out gains made by green energy, and made it impossible to buy RAM

βImminent.β You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Now I'm 42; artist, scientist, mom, finally finding and creating the peace that I sought at 13. And Jagged Little Pill still f*cking smashes as an album. You were never an "angry" musician. You were a woman being judged, same as us, but in public. I never believed a word of it. Keep rockin π€
After MeToo, Epstein, etc, we are seeing how fake and manipulated our media landscape was; thx to my parents' World Radio, I knew there was more out there than what made it to the average US Americans ears. I'm grateful Jagged burst through the critique.
Jagged has a couple of angry songs, yes, but even those are more nuanced, and are more about processing difficult emotions. The album was so successful because it connected with so many people. Decades later we are still wrestling with barriers such as what women are "allowed" to feel/express.
@alanismorissette.bsky.social I was 12 when Jagged came out. It was one of only a handful of albums I listened to on repeat. I'm upset that even your Spotify echoes what people said in the 90s that you were labeled "angry". Even at 13 I hated the label. Women are not allowed to feel hard emotions.
Everyone implicated in the Epstein files should have consequences.
Everyone.
I hope consequences come for those who hold more power than these scientists, too.
Tragic π
This kind of repression is not a traditional part of African culture. It has been pushed on the continent aggressively by American evangeicals.

Itβs the same with foreign policy. Weβre spending all this money dropping bombs in other countriesβno one wants that.
"Using Reducto, an AI tool, they have identified which files contained emails; extracted the listed senders, recipients, dates, subjects and message bodies; and posted them on a website called Jmail.world. In total, the group processed 1.4m emails, finishing its work on February 11th'
we could be using the epstein files as a way to reckon with the ways in which power, money, and misogyny all interact to exploit women and girls and is evidence of society's systemic disregard for violence against women but instead people are going "wow this tiny cabal of elites are bad!" No.
First known Epstein survivor speaks out published at 11:05 Maria Farmer, the first known survivor to report Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell to law enforcement, has issued a statement in response to Andrew's arrest on suspicion of misconduct in public office. βToday is just the beginning of accountability and justice brought forth by Virginia Roberts Giuffre β a young mother who adored her daughter so deeply, she fought the most powerful on earth to protect her," she said. "She did this for everyoneβs daughters. Letβs now demand all the dominos of power and corruption begin to fall.β
