Gawd I wish that were me :'-(
If I get job security, meals and housing, and free healthcare I'd consider it.
Today I channeled Loki for flexibility. My offering is to be telling people terrible jokes, also maybe burning a piece of beef later to keep with tradition. "He's not picky" , except I am highly skeptical. He's gonna want something really over the top next time I know it.
So, I wrote a thing about writing a thing. Beware, may contain trace amounts of madness.
i just walked "What happened to sidetrail?" by @valerierayne13.bsky.social

In the rationalist metaphor, your brain is not inherently a map. It's a paper in the territory, a particularly powerful (cruxy) piece of it actually. Drawing on that paper, no matter whether you draw a detailed map or nonsense, is not a neutral act with no consequences on the territory around it.
You might be familiar with the idea of a "speech act", in which you say words not to encode a concept or transmit information but to alter reality in the act of saying them.
There's an analogous idea of a "belief act"βfilling your mind with an idea not for reflecting reality but for creating it.
I have decided. Fuck trying to find a leftbrain frame for magical thinking, I'm gonna become a witch.
No more distantly appreciating the aesthetic; time to cast spells. It's dumb to believe in the psychological power of ritual and not be making regular use of it to adjust my own psychology.
Hey @sealight.xyz
Do you have the lexicon doc for the annotations type posted anywhere I could stare at it a bit?
With a ketchup bottle, one will squeeze out as much sauce as their heart desires or more.
With ketchup packets, one will squeeze out just as many as they have the patience to and ratchet down their dipping to fit.
I bet this is a metaphor for something

I am doing such an excellent job at predicting how long tasks will take that it has become *relevant* whether I skive off from schedule. Oh what a problem to have!
there is no escape. we all React somewhere :V
In Atlas of the Heart, Brown points to freudenfreude (taking joy in in other people's joys) as an important social emotion. She said the lack of it will kill relationships. Taking this perspective, I clearly need a lot more mutual celebration in my life
So I wrote this thread idea up and posted it!
