This is part of a pattern I've started to notice: There are people out there who are loudly committed to off-loading their work to chatbots and come seeking my validation for their position.

There are the workers hidden behind Waymo cars to get them out of jams, workers behind the Tesla robots teaching them how to do tasks (and actually doing them when necessary), and ...
The idea that AI doesn't deeply depend on actual human intelligence (usually badly paid) behind it is just hype.
Lesson #1 about perspective. If a marginalized person says that something is harmful, and you are not marginalized, just shut the fuck up and listen.
So subset of boycott supporters took it upon themselves to declare the Target boycott over but the people who actually started the movement have spoken out today no one talked to them and the boycott lives. π§΅
This shit drives me absolutely bananas. If you had to choose only one (one!!!) western medical invention over the past 200 years that has saved more lives than anything else, it would be vaccines. It's the reason why dead children are so rare.

Wait, including Lynda Hopkins?
The internet, on scientists: They're secretive gatekeepers, they hoard esoterica/the truth, they don't want anyone in their ivory tower little clubs
Actual scientists: LOOK, WE FOUND A 300 MILLION YEAR OLD FOSSILIZED CLOACCAL IMPRESSION AND THE VENT IS HORIZONTAL! PLZ READ MY 67-PAGE PAPER ABOUT IT
It really hasn't been a more affordable time to buy an EV, just search your favorite used car site, set the oldest to 2021 and milage below 50k to give you another 5 years and 50k of powertrain coverage, and there's basically every option imaginable in the affordable range...
Some politician should run on a program to provide solar and batteries to every residential building (where it makes sense.) We finally added more panels and a battery to our system, and even with 2 electric cars, we will be net zero. Good for the wallet and the planet.
Let's make this simple. It's not about whether or not she convinced enough people. It's that enough people are racist and sexist enough to not vote for an extremely qualified woman of color.
A graphic with a large yellow banner in the middle announcing "Live on Kickstarter! We've Always Been Here: A queer historical zine." The bottom text is in a rainbow gradient with little rainbows framing the box. Above this is a mockup of the book's cover alongside some page mockups, and the bottom half features three other illustration previews.

Tomorrow's Bandcamp Friday fundraiser will be for The Trans Continental Pipeline, helping trans folks leave hostile states (ahem, Kansas) for Colorado.
Just a reminder that if you pay for anything online with a traceable method, you are vulnerable to being identified.
Left can't resist being on wrong side of a war Whether it's Jeremy Corbyn or Zack Polanski, their foreign policy stances terrify voters outside core supporters
Well, hereβs the thing about being antiwar as an ethical belief: it means you end up opposing most wars. Almost all of them, in fact. This is quite common in people who have consistent beliefs but looks insane to people who have none, or mostly just believe superior people should make the decisions.
By, the way, in case you're wondering why pay-whatever-you-can lawyering is vital?
Client paid $500 for this case TOTAL. It took six years, fifty court appearances, and four rounds of dispositive motions. Now his family will have access to generational wealth.
That's why my Patreon is important.
My books are all free for "Read an E-Book" week at Smashwords, no DRM, either.
If you like cozy-ish space opera and science fiction, with diverse characters, hopeful endings, and interesting examinations of culture clash and spirituality, this might be your cup of tea.
About every 57k miles driven by Muskβs robotaxis one gets into a wreck. Thatβs four times the rate of humans.
I know Sara J. Maas isn't sending me an email telling me how much she loves my writing and wants to connect. I mean, c'mon, does anyone fall for that?
I hope you arenβt drunk and took your staffβs advice, Rashida and I donβt know this man and feel confident he didnβt care about us. Please restrain from drinking too much as you have been warned from your staff and stay off social media when you are drunk. I pray in his holy month you find peace and respect for your self,
uhhh oh my god
I'm also sick of people who take any realistic post concerning the trouble we are actually in as an attempt not to get people to vote. I am a fucking REALIST. I will comment on the REALITY of our current situation. So deal with it, or fuck right off.

The left is not "missing out" on AI. It's winning the argument. Americans worry about AI and dislike tech CEOs. They're mobilizing against data centers. They support regulation, even refusal.
Calls for the left to embrace AI are an effort to change the terms of the debate in Silicon Valley's favor.
I'm listening to this book- definitely worth it.
I celebrate the founders of the βSecond founding.β The ones who imagined and worked to create a new America, & laid the foundation for, wrote, or advanced the 13th, 14th, & 15th amendments. Charles Sumner, Thaddeus Stevens, John Bingham, Frederick Douglass, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper & many more.
I'm glad folks are studying this - more needs to be done. It's important.
I heard about the crystal Shrek somewhere, and I foolishly googled it. Now ads for it haunt me.
The crowd wasn't a "Black audience" it was just an event on his book tour in Atlanta. Look, as I said, I hate Newsom, and I think he's probably like most white men of his ilk, racist in some way or another. But misinformation, and taking things out of context is never helpful.
If you find the larger clip and read or listen to it, in the context this makes more sense - it doesn't seem like he is making that assumption.
