deeply browned bone-in pork ribs on a white plate, and asparagus in a foil packet.
🍽️🍜
the end of a beautiful 70 degree day. and with the return of Daylight Saving Time i don't have to grill in the dark. tonight: bone-in "country" pork ribs (really shoulder steaks and so delicious) with a brown sugar/cayenne/smoked black pepper/salt rub, and asparagus "steamed" in olive oil.

Independents made up 40.3% of the Nevada electorate in November 2024, and now 44.4%.
(Note this is in part a factor of how back-end automatic voter registration, which Nevada has, works.)

Green Books From Below logotype on cream background, accompanying line illustration of interconnected heads and bodies reading books, books, coffee cups and raised fists. Main text reads “Radical bookshop coming soon to Newcastle” in a bold sans serif font.
Noted! Can’t seem to amend the main image but I have reposted the image with alt text here.

A clump of white-pink almond flowers at the very tip of a twig that grows straight up, making it look a bit like a mic. Blurry flowers a light blue sky in the background.
My almond tree would like to announce that spring has sprung!
(The forsythias have started to bloom which is the official signal even though they aren’t native in Germany. 🤷♀️)

a detail of what looks to my uneducated eye, this is a moringa tree by the way a detail of this tree which looks like it has giant green beans growing on it? that's actually more like an okra vegetable growing off the tree looking like giant green beans? I am told these trees are unpopular with landscaping people but I am also told that the pollinators love them and I know this because they attack me when I try to go near the tree. especially hummingbirds!

I get almost as many comments about how ugly or fat I am on my workout posts as I did on my posts before I started lifting. I’m not asking for sympathy. I just want to remind Black women that the point isn’t if we are pretty or skinny or not. The point is they want us to not exist.🙄

So, uh. In disability studies we call this a "disability dongle" or a techno-utopian solution to a problem that appeals to the able-bodied imagination rather than the actuality of disabled life itself.
Deploying a LLM to translate a legal notice for an asylum seeker functions similarly.

Photo of pink tulip magnolia blooms at the end of long skinny dark brown branches. The blooms have upright petals to form something like a tulip in its looser stage when the petals are starting to droop a bit.
Today's blooms are from a tulip magnolia. These are always hard to photograph to make them look like anything but the effect is very striking in person 🌱

Most of us don't do well w/ Noise; I can't even stand Yelling on the Internet. Regarding the Myth of Autists working badly in Groups?
Autists need Structure, therefore we Need Accommodating.
This is precisely what my kid dealt with as an Accelerated AKA Gifted Student in America; with accommodation🤔
