Honestly, I listen to Up First (NPR's ~15 minute, 3 story podcast) in the mornings. And then I have the Associated Press app downloaded on my phone. They truly only send Breaking News alerts when it's actually a big deal, on average 1-2 a day, and the headline tells you all you need to know.

Bluesky tip for no reason in particular:
There's a setting in the moderation settings section of your account that makes it so logged out accounts can't see your posts. If you have blocked some accounts for a reason, you should probably also go turn that on.
